Dolomites

Description

The Marmolada is the highest peak of the Dolomites and a paradise for freeriders! I invite you to come here and enjoy one day or several days of exciting off-piste skiing.

Wide spaces, huge turns, a lot of deep powder, freedom: that’s what it’s all about! I will take you inside the amazing white peaks of the Marmolada and we’ll discover impressive couloirs and off-piste ski runs.

It is difficult to promise perfect virgin powder snow…although I will do my best to find it! However, I can promise delicious Italian food, excellent coffee, and magnificent scenery.

During this trip, we’ll go to the Marmolada side, known as the “Queen of the Dolomites”. With 3 cable cars we will go up to its second-highest point, Punta Rocca (3265 m), where there will be an excellent off-piste ski descent of more than 1000 m to Lago di Fedaia, a beautiful lake at 2000 m.

Here are some of the routes I like to ski at the Marmolada:

  • Couloir 11:30

  • Lydia descent

  • The Canyon

  • Descent Vallone d’Antermoia (Punta Serauta)

  • Punta Penia (ski mountaineering)

I really enjoy visiting this place because it is a perfect playground to learn the basics of freeriding. Besides, we can always reach higher levels of difficulty in order to please everybody.

And if you want other challenges, we can also go freeride skiing at Pordoi or Sassolungo.

Feel free to get in touch with me if you plan to come to this area. We can discuss together about one or several days of great guided skiing!

Mountain Guide

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
