For 18 amazing days, I would like to guide you from Kathmandu to Lukla to Everest base camp to Gokyo and back!

The views, the feelings, the sheer magnitude of visiting Mount Everest (8,848m) is an experience nobody could ever forget. In the heart of the Himalayas in Nepal, there is so much you can see and do. That is why on this trip I would like to give you a varied adventure. So on this trip, we will begin by picking you up at Kathmandu airport. From there, you will get not one, but two days to explore the wonderful Nepalese capital. We will even take you on a city tour on the second day!

Afterwards, you will get to enjoy the famous Lukla – Kathmandu – Lukla flights. While less than 40 minutes, the views and the experience of these flights are truly truly memorable.

You will get to visit a number of fantastic spots during this trek. Some examples include the following.

  • Namche Bazaar

  • Tengboche 

  • Pheriche

  • Lobuche

  • Phakding

  • Khumjung

The main highlights of this trip however are Everest base camp and Gokyo. In the case of base camp, we will also visit Kalapatter (5,545m), which will enable you to get some great views of the mighty mountain. For Gokyo, you will also get to visit the Gokyo peak (5,450m) as well.

Since we will be trekking for approximately 4-6 hours a day, it is important that participants are in good physical condition.

This 18 day trek from Kathmandu to Gokyo, with time at Everest base camp is an incredible journey. To experience it for yourself, just send me a request.

I also lead a shorter, 12 day trek that will take you from Kathmandu to Everest base camp and back.

Along with the guiding fee, the price also includes airport pick-up and drop-off at Kathmandu, meals, accommodation, domestic flights (lukla -Kathmandu - Lukla), Everest national park permit, porters, first aid medical kit, necessary paperwork, taxes, and complimentary farewell dinner in Kathmandu. However, the price does not include international airfare, personal expenses, lunch and dinner in Kathmandu.


Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

After you land in Kathmandu, you will be picked up and transported to the Thamel area of the city. You will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Full day sightseeing day in Kathmandu

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,827m)

After arriving in Lukla, we will trek for approximately 2-3 hours to Phakding before arriving at the lodge where we will spend the night.

Day 4: Namche Bazaar (3,443m)

We will trek for approximately 5-6 hours to Namche Bazaar. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 5: Rest day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization

Day 6: Tengboche (3,820m)

Today we will trek for approximately 5-6 hours to Tengboche. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 7: Pheriche (4,230m)

Today we will trek for approximately 4-5 hours to Pheriche. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 8: Rest day in Pheriche for acclimatization

Day 9: Lobuche (4,900m)

Today we will trek for approximately 4-5 hours to Lobuche. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 10: Everest Base Camp (5,450m)

We will trek for approximately 3 hours to Everest base camp before going to Gorakshep, where we will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 11: Kalapattar (5545m)

Today, we will visit Kalapatter, where you can enjoy some spectacular views of Everest. After that, we will trek for approximately 5 hours to Zhong La, where we will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 12: Trek to Gokyo via Chola Pass (5,420m)

Today we will trek for approximately 6 hours to Gokyo. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 13: Gokyo Peak (5,450m)

Early in the morning, we will visit the Gokyo Peak. Afterwards, we will trek for approximately 5-6 hours to Dole. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 14: Khumjung

Today we will trek for approximately 4-5 hours to Khumjung. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 15: Phakding

We will trek for approximately 4-5 hours to Phakding. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 16: Lukla

Today we will trek for approximately 3-4 hours to Lukla. We will spend the night in a lodge.

Day 17: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

You will take the scenic 35 minute flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. You will spend the night in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18: Departure home from Kathmandu airport

Participants should bring the following items with them on this trek: trekking boots, warm socks, gaiters, loose casual trekking pants, thermal leggings, waterproof trousers, thermal shirt, various t-shirts and long shirts, fleece jacket, down jacket, windproof jacket, wool or fleece hat, sleeping bag, one liter water bottle, toilet items, towel, and a camera.
