Description
When it comes to climbing the Eiger, the Mittellegi ridge is simply the route any climber dreams of in the Alps. This has become a true classic climb in the Bernese Alps, which I myself have scaled over 35 times. I would love to share my experience with you.
After meeting you at the Eismeer station, we will rope up and begin our traverse across the Challifirn. Once we climb the Bergschrund, we will turn to the rock face to continue the way up (grade 3+). Finally, we will arrive at the Mittellegi hut (3,350 m). From this point, I promise a unique sunset.
On the second day, we will work towards our main goal: the Eiger summit (3,970 m). On our way to the first climbing section, before dawn, we will walk on the ridge, with impressive views of the north face. The final section before the summit consists of a sharp Firn ridge and the use of fixed ropes.
Once on the Eiger summit, the view is magnificent. Here, we will spend time taking everything in. Later, we will begin the descent.
On the way down we will use rappel to reach the Eigerjoch. The final climbing sections are exceptional. Towards the end of the program, I will guide you as we round-up the Mönch on the way to the Southside of the Jungfraujoch.
The terrain is steep, and includes exposed climbing on the ridge. I recommend climbers to have experience in similar alpine tours prior to this one.
Be sure to pack lightly. Choose functional clothing and sturdy mountain boots to be used with crampons. Let me know if I can help you with the rest of the necessary rental equipment.

Mountain Guide
I was born in Sörenberg. I owe my love for sports and nature to my father. Ever since I gave my first steps, it was clear that the mountain was my destiny. I received my first harness when I turned 14. What started as a hobby of mine later became my job and professional career – as well as my passion. Climbing for me is pure sentiment. It embodies a deep emotional confrontation with the mountain, life and one self.
I am an all-rounder alpinist, with experience in both ice and rock. When I was 17 years old, I suffered a climbing accident that left me in a wheelchair for some time. Since then, I climbed Eiger mount over 35 times. This mountain became my home and made me a stronger and more confident climber.
Mountaineering has also given me the opportunity of traveling around the globe. I enjoy climbing remote spots, unknown, untouched territory. Freeclimbing is an exceptional practice that I hope to spread as much as possible.
Yet, what is most special to me is sharing these experiences with climbing partners from all over the world. The bond that unites people up in the mountain is extremely special and intense. Fairness and sustainability are two core values to me. In the end, it all comes down to having a fun and joyful climbing experience. Will you join me?

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me!
