Description

Heading to the base camp of the world's highest mountain makes for a scenic, exciting and fun adventure. Opting to go on the EBC luxury trek from Kathmandu makes it unforgettable!

Over the course of 15 days, we will make our way from Kathmandu to Lukla and on to the iconic Mount Everest Base Camp, all the way to 5,364 meters above sea level!

As we go, we will have the chance to visit various traditional Sherpa villages, including Namche Bazaar, the unofficial Sherpa capital. From this stunning spot of culture and commerce, we will get our first impressive views out over Mount Everest.

After Namche Bazaar, we continue steadily gaining altitude on our approach to the base camp. Each day, the mountain draws nearer and the scenery becomes more forbidding but intensely beautiful.

On the eve of our ascent to base camp, we will pass over a stunning ridge, which affords us views of Mt.Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde (5741m), Kongma-tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse.

The highlight of the trip is reaching the base camp and feeling the indescribable sensation of being in the shadow of the world's highest peak. After descending from the mountain, we go for an encore.

The following morning, we will summit Kala Patthar (5545m) and watch a truly sublime sunrise over Everest. We will also get incredible views out over Mt Pumori, Mt Lingtren, Mt Khumbetse, Mt Nuptse, Mt Lhotse, Mt Ama Dablam, Mt Thamserku and many more.

On the way down, the adventure will continue as we visit the world's premier high altitude museum and continue enjoying phenomenal views of the Himalayas.

By the time we arrive back in Kathmandu and have our farewell dinner, you will already be yearning to return to this sublime part of the world.

For groups of 10 or more people, the price is $2555/person. Please note that meals in Kathmandu (with the exception fo the farewell dinner) are not included int he price of the trip.


Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

After flying into Tribhuvan International Airport, you will meet with a representative from the agency and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m) to Phakding (2640m)

We will take a morning flight to Lukla and begin trekking to Phakding, making a gentle climb along the left bank of the Dudh Koshi.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazzar (3440m)

We will hike toward Namche Bazaar. As we go, we will cross the Dudh Koshi on a suspension bridge and begin ascending into Sagarmatha National Park through a thick rhododendron forest. Once we arrive in Namche Bazaar, we will get our first great views of Mount Everest.

Day 4: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

We will spend the day acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar. Here, we will visit the Khumjung monastery, from where we will enjoy some great views of Everest and other iconic Himalayan peaks. We will also have the chance to visit a museum of Sherpa culture.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3867m)

We will spend the day trekking to Tyangboche, dropping down a steep cliff to hike along the Dudh Koshi, before steadily climbing up to Tyangboche. From here, we’ll have great views of Everest and Ama Dablam.

Day 6: Tyangboche to Dingboche (4260m)

We will send the day trekking to Dingboche. The day begins with a brief descent followed by some hiking through thick rhododendron forests until we arrive at Deboche. From here, we cross the Imja Khola on a suspension bridge and hike on through the Imjastse Valley until we arrive at Dingboche.

Day 7: Acclimatization at Dingboche

We will spend the day exploring Dingboche. In the afternoon we will hike up Chhukum. From here, we’ll have some great views over several iconic Himalayan peaks.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4930m)

We will spend about 5.5 hours making the gentle ascent to Lobuche. Along the way, we will pass through Pheriche village and enjoy some panoramic views out over some of the Himalaya’s highest peaks.

Day 9: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m)

This day is the highlight of the trip. We will hike through some stark mountain landscapes until we arrive at Everest base camp. Here, we will enjoy the views for a bit and talk to would-be climbers before descending down to Gorakshep (5140m).

Day 10: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m) to Pheriche (4243m)

We will get up early in the morning and make a quick ascent of Kala Patthar in order to watch the sunrise over Everest. From here, wee will descend down to Pheriche.

Day 11: Pheriche to Tyangboche (3867m)

We will visit the high altitude research center in Pheriche before trekking down through a thick rhododendron forest and on to Tyangboche, where we will visit the ancient monastery and enjoy incredible views into the Himalayas.

Day 12: Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

We will hike for about 4.5 hours until we reach Namche Bazaar, visiting the traditional villages of Khumjung, Khunde and the Yeti Scalp monastery en route.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886m)

We will spend our last day of trekking making our way back to Lukla, where we will be able to relax for the rest of the afternoon.

Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu

We will fly back to Kathmandu and you will have the afternoon free. In the evening, we will go out for our farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant.

Day 15: Departure

You will transfer to the airport and fly back home.
