Description

The famed Sierra Nevada mountain range in the state of California is a vast, and breathtaking mountain range. As a result of its colossal size, there is as much space as there is opportunity to enjoy a variety of different activities. And on this 5 day adventure, which takes place during the winter months in the eastern part of the range, the focus will be on mountaineering, snowshoeing and ice climbing.

Each day of this trip will take you to a different place. Thus making each day feel like its own adventure. And at the end of every day you will be able to rest and recuperate at a local hotel or campsite that allows you to see what looks like an endless of ocean of stars in the sky above.

Throughout the 5 days in the Sierra Nevada, you will have the chance to ice climb on a spectacular ice fall. You will get to enjoy a long snowshoe hike that will allow you to admire the beautiful landscape before concluding near an amazing snow cave not far from where we will camp for the night. There will also be a day of skills training and rescue training. Finally, near the end of trip, you will have the chance to scale one of the range’s great peaks. The peak will be chosen based on weather conditions and other criteria.

As a result of the challenging nature of this trip, participants should have prior winter mountaineering experience. They should also be in very good physical condition.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger.
