Mont Blanc (4,810m) is a truly majestic mountain. World-famous, it is one of those peaks climbers from around the world dream of scaling. However, it is definitely not for beginners. So what is a person with not enough climbing experience to do if they still want to feel the glory of climbing Mont Blanc? The answer is simple: join one of our certified guides on this wonderful 3-day adventure, where you will get to climb the beautiful Domes de Miage on the Mont Blanc massif’s southern slope.
The only experience you require on this climb is to have used crampons before. Other than that, it is ideal for people who are anxious to try high-altitude climbing. However, it is important that participants are in good physical condition, as we will be climbing from 6 to 9 hours each day. During the ascent of the Domes de Miage, I will also be constantly offering tips and advice on proper climbing techniques.
The Domes de Miage is situated in a wild part of the Mont Blanc massif. It is quite remote, but very beautiful and still remains very close to the Chamonix valley. And as a result of its location, you will get to enjoy some amazing views of the Alps.
This program does not present any specific difficulty, although slightly more challenging than the Gran Paradiso and the 3-day Monte Rosa tour, it is adequate for eager beginners. However, you are advised to have some experience walking with crampons and to be used to walking off-trail in the mountains carrying your backpack with some gear in it. You should be able to cope with walking at altitudes above 3000 minimum.
You should be used to outdoor sports and do endurance sports on a regular basis (cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, swimming). If this is not the case, you should run at least 3 times a week (10 km/hr) two to three months before this alpine course. Expect to be on the go for 6 to 8 hours per day with approx 900 to 1300 m ascent/descent.
Do you want to start your high-altitude climbing career on one of the world’s most renowned massifs? Then get in touch with me and I'll arrange to guide you to the top of the Domes de Miage.
On the first day of the trip we will meet at the Les Houches, do an equipment check and take a transport to the Notre Dame de la Gorge. Afterwards, we will make our way to the refuge, where we will spend the night. We will be trekking for approximately 6 hours, and the elevation of the day will be approximately 1,400 meters.
Today, we will leave the refuge and trek to a glacier at 3,000 meters. Afterwards, turn toward the Col des Domes (3,564m) and continue up to the top of the Domes de Miages before we head back down to a refuge (2,602m), where we will spend the night. We will be trekking for approximately 6-7 hours and will ascend and descent approximately 1,070 meters.
On the finally day of the trip, we will leave the refuge and ascend the Aiguille de Berangere before descending back down to the refuge, and then back down to the Chamonix valley. We will be trekking for approximately 8 to 9 hours. We will be ascending approximately 800 meters and descending approximately 2,200 meters.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
