Description

Discover a magical region in the Chilean Patagonia. Trek the Huerquehue National Park near Pucón in Chile, on this day adventure.

This fantastic park lies at the foothills of one of the most spectacular mountain ranges on Earth: the Andes. It is located in the La Araucanía region, in the Valdivian forest. And it is only 33 kilometers east of Pucon, right between the Huechulafquen and the Villarrica National Reserves. Also, it has more than 125 km2 of a hypnotizing mountainous terrain.

Furthermore, it is one of the best preserved areas in the country, as it was designed a national park since 1967 to protect it. Its name comes from the Mapudungun, and it means the place of the messenger.

The Huerquehue National Park welcomes everyone. It has 2 main alternatives with different levels of difficulty. The Los Lagos Trail is our first option, passing through the Lago Chico, Verde and Toro lakes, along with Tinquilco. And it offers dazzling views of 2 beautiful waterfalls and the Villarrica Volcano.

Then, the second option is the San Sebastian Trail. Due to its bigger inclination, this path is more challenging. From the top, you can enjoy mesmerizing sceneries. You’ll get a 360º degrees view of the Villarrica, Quetrupillan and Lanin volcanoes.

But regardless of the option you choose, you’ll live an unforgettable experience, surrounded by unique vegetation, magnificent peaks and breathtaking sceneries. Moreover, you’ll get the chance to see the ancient Araucaria forests, or monkey puzzle. These forests, combined with the lakes and peaks, offer a spectacle hard to compare.

We’ll depart at 08:30 and return at 16:30 approximately. Participants must have good physical level and health condition, and be at least 8 years old. Also, please note the San Sebastian trail closes when there is too much snow.
