Description

Join me on this 5-day unforgettable splitboarding program in the Dolomites. Located in northeastern Italy, the Dolomites are a beautiful mountain range that deserves to be explored!

Some of the most famous summits in the range include Torre Sella, Marmolada, Tofane and Tre Cime. The region was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009. During the warmer months the region is ideal for climbing trips and via ferrata. When the landscape turns white it’s time to explore it snowboarding (or skiing!).

The Dolomites splitboarding traverse is a wonderful alternative to the most popular one in the Alps, the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt. In this Italian mountain range we will find stunning landscapes, infinite splitboarding possibilities and of course, the warm welcome characteristic of the locals.

We will start in San Martino di Castrozza, in the south of the Dolomites. From the Pale of San Martino group, we will cross the areas of the Marmolada and the Sella. Finally we will reach the Braies lake through the Fanes/Sennes group.  For more details you can check the day-to-day itinerary below. And please note that we can meet elsewhere if you prefer. Likewise, some aspects of the itinerary can be modified as it it a private program. Don’t hesitate to ask me!

Throughout the traverse we will sometimes make use of the Dolomiti Superski vast lift network. The vertical gain with skins on will be maximum 700 meters a day. Ascents are part of the adventure, but it will not be too intense.

This will be a chance to cross sublime passes, enjoy exciting descents in a magical setting, and marvel with the beauty of the Italian villages. We will enjoy the warm Italian hospitality and their delicious cuisine.

Are you tempted to discover everything the Dolomites have to offer during this 5-day splitboarding traverse? Then request to book this trip! And if I got you hooked on the Haute Route of the Alps earlier on, I can also guide you splitboarding there 😉

Mountain Guide

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
