Description

On this 2 day intro level rock climbing course, we would like to teach you as much as possible about rock climbing. Our location will be around Courmayeur in the beautiful Aosta valley of the Italian Alps.

Depending on your skill level and other factors, there are different places we can choose to conduct the course. Some of those places include Val Ferret or Val Veny. Both of these locations are beautiful, offering great views, and also have great walls to climb on.

During this 2 day course, we will focus on teaching you the basic skills and techniques necessary for proper and safe rock climbing.

The beginning of the course will focus on top rope technique. This will involve a rope hanging from a fixed anchor point above the cliff. There will be no risk of falling during this part, which will also assist you in overcoming any fears you may have. From there, we will focus on basic climbing techniques as you work up the wall. Those techniques include exploiting the center of mass, proper use of your feet, optimal leg hoist and basic legs progression. After that, we will focus on safety chain. This will involve maneuvers while resting, protection methods, fall factor and progression as climb leader.

On the following day, you will take much of what you have learned on the first day and put them into practice as you try to climb the selected cliff as a leader.

Learning to rock climb on the cliffs of Courmayeur is a great opportunity for anybody who loves rock climbing to learn some new skills, or improve upon the ones they already have. To join us on this 2 day trip, just send us a request.
