Description

It’s my pleasure to invite you to the impressive Condoriri Massif**, over 5000 meters. A 5-day trip perfect for beginner mountaineers!**

The Condoriri Massif is a marvelous group of Bolivian mountains, forming a circle of colors and beauty and containing the freshest natural water reservoirs in the area.

This adventure through the Condoriri Massif is an ideal program for people with little hiking experience. It also works perfectly as an acclimatization trek before a bigger goal in the Bolivian Andes. 

During this 5-day trekking expedition we will visit the famous Condoriri National Park as well as many other interesting points. We’ll reach the Chiarkhota Lagoon at 4600 meters and the Tuni Condoriri Lagoon, at 4220 meters.

And there is more! As an local IFMGA guide with vast expertise in this region I will also help you conquer the following summits:

  • Austria Peak (5343 m),

  • Mt. Ilusión (5350 m),

  • Alpamayo Chico (5400 m)

As you can see, we will make best use of these days guaranteeing total enjoyment of your high altitude adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1: Tuni Condoriri Lagoon - Chiarkhota Lagoon

Departure by vehicle to Tuni Condoriri Lagoon (4220 m). From there we will move to the Chiarkhota lagoon (4600 m) with the help of mules. The trek to the base camp will take us about 2:30 hours. Overnight at the campsite.

Day 2: Austria Peak

Ascent to Austria Peak (5343 m). It is a climb with no technical difficulty (4 hours). After summit it, we will return to base camp (2:30 hours). We’ll spend the night in the camping site.

Day 3: Mt. Ilusión

Ascent of Mt Ilusión (5350 m) without difficulty. The climb will take 4 hours. After achievement such a goal we’ll return down to base camp (3 hours). Overnight at the camping site.

Day 4: Mt. Alpamayo Chico

Climb to Mt. Alpamayo Chico (5400 m). The first 4 hours involve an easy climb. Then, we must follow the west edge face which is more difficult and will take 2:30 more hours. After enjoying in the top of the mountain we will descend to the base camp (11 hours round trip), where we’ll spend the night.

Day 5: Back to La Paz

Descent to the car parking lot with the help of mules for about 2 hours. We’ll return to La Paz by vehicle (3 hours). Finally, you will arrive at your hotel where this program ends.

I was trained as a mountain guide in germany in the DAV and am also guide UIAGM.

With many years of experience as mountaineer, I was the the first Bolivian to summit the Everest. Another achievements I have are the Makalu, Makinley, Cho Oyu, Aconcagua and many other mountains in Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Argentina.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area.
