I guide the ascent on Mont Triglav (2864 m), the highest peak in Slovenia, from different routes. Here is the program I propose for the one leaving from the Krma valley, the easiest way to get to the summit.
We start and finish the hike at the same point, in the Krma valley. We will sleep in Triglavski dom. From there, we'll go to the top and we can descend the way to Planika hut. That way, we make a small circle.
In addition, there is via ferrata from the hut to the summit of Mount Triglav and back.
You can do this route in one day, but only if you are a super fit person (usually it takes from 12-16 hours). However, I recommend to do it in two days. That way, you can really enjoy the hike as well as admire the beautiful landscapes.
Below this description, you'll find an itinerary for the 2-day trip.
If you are interested in climbing the most famous peak in Slovenia, please get in touch with me. We can discuss together the most suitable option for you!
Besides, I organize many other trips in the surroundings of Mont Triglav, like ski touring, rock climbing and ice climbing.
- Guiding fee
- Transport during the trip
This price is for a group tour that can be done twice a week, on Sundays/Mondays and Wednesdays/Thursdays. Price includes guiding, equipment rental, guides costs and if you don't have a car in Slovenia also transport from Bohinj, Bled, Kranjska Gora or anywhere close. There is an additional cost of cca 65€ per person for food, drinks, and sleeping in the mountain hut.
A minimum of 2 participants is required for this trip to take place.
The route to the Triglavski dom has an extension of 7,3 kilometers and we will face a height difference of 1500 meters. It usually takes us around 5 hours to reach the hut. On the way, we will find a water spring, so you only need to bring a water bottle of 1 or 1,5 litres and snacks.
From the hut, we will need to ascend another 400 meters. Due to the exposed terrain (via ferrata), the ascent and descent will take us around 3-4 hours from the hut (Triglavski dom) to the top and back, plus 4 hours down to the valley.
If weather allows it, we will go for the summit on day 1 and descend to the valley on day 2

I am a UIAGM mountain guide, ski instructor and sports teacher and the current president of the Slovenian Mountain Guide Association.
I am still the only guide who can make a living working exclusively in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country over 200 times.
If you want to climb or ski in Slovenian mountains I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, heliski, freeride skiing and ski touring.
Slovenia has good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything let me know and I will see if I can help you!
I speak English. Ich sprache auch ein bischen Deutsch. Parla anche un pocho Italiano e abla tambien un po Espanol.
If I am not available to guide you, one of the super experienced guides in my team - Rok, Peter, Grega or Igor - will be your guide.
