Alpine climbing on La Tour Ronde

Alpine climbing on La Tour Ronde | undefined

Kenichi, IFMGA mountain guide, takes you on a 1-day alpine climbing trip on the normal route of La Tour Ronde, a beautiful peak of the Mont Blanc massif.

Description

La Tour Ronde (3792 m) is a classic peak on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc massif.

It stands out for its rocky spear shape and provides some of the best views of the Mont Blanc peaks.

This alpine climb is a little technical (grade AD in the alpine grading system). Because of that, you should have some previous climbing experience. For example, you should be able to climb second at grade 5b or so (in the French grading system).

Usually this is a 2-day itinerary, which includes spending one night at the Torino hut. Nevertheless, I propose it as a 1-day trip using the Mont Blanc tunnel.

Our meeting point will be near Chamonix station at around 6 am. Once there, we'll take the first lift up from Courmayeur. After climbing the normal route, we'll return to the point where we meet at around 5-6 pm.

Please, get in touch with me if you are interested in this alpine climb of La Tour Ronde. My available dates are between 27 July and 8 August.

Besides, you can also check other trips in this area, like an alpine climbing trip in Petite Aiguille Verte or a 2-day mountaineering trip on Dent de Geant / Rochefort Arete.

Mountain Guide

I am an IFMGA mountain guide as well as a specialist in mountain rescue. As a guide, I constantly work towards increasing the standards of mountaineering skills in Japan with an emphasis on risk and safety management, whilst training and coaching mountaineering clubs and rescue teams.

I started climbing in my 20s, and since then have enjoyed all-round mountain activities including alpine climbing in Mt Tanigawa (on which I’ve climbed over 360 times), Hodaka, Tsurugi areas as well as rock climbing, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, sawanobori, and high altitude climbing in the Himalayas.
In addition to numerous and notable climbs in Japan, I have an extensive climbing experiences abroad both personal and for guiding; in the Himalayas (Lotse etc.), Eiger, Mont Blanc, Matterhorn, Grands Jorasses north face, and New Zealand (Aspiring, Cook).

My current interest is in training people mountain skills in order for them to enjoy the mountains better and in a safer manner. I run a mountain guide academy where I have been training future mountain guides with a strong focus on safety and elimination of accidents for a number of years. At the same time, I very much enjoy teaching and running skills courses for beginners who are just getting into the mountains but are keen on learning and/ or improving their skills for their next project.

Please contact me if you’re looking for a guide to train you to accomplish your dream project, to help you progress in your mountain skills, or to help you gain introductory skills for first time mountaineering / ice climbing / rock climbing / ski mountaineering! I’d be very happy to assist you to achieve your wishes!!

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Man

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
