Join Nicolas, IFMGA certified guide, in this 3-day climbing trip to La Meije and Le Doigt de Dieu. Improve your skills enjoying the mountain experience!

3 Days

Jun - Sep

Description

Join me for a nice 3-day journey in the area of La Meije (Southern Alps). In fact, we will climb La Meije & Le Doigt de Dieu. The hike up to the Aigle refuge on day 1 is already a true journey… We will then spend 2 days “perched” on top of the Durance valley.

Two magnificent summits, filled with history, are waiting for our crampons: La Meije & Le Doigt de Dieu.

This program is an example, I may have to adapt it depending on the conditions and the level of the participants. Check the daily itinerary below.

This beautiful 3-day journey has different objectives:

  • Improving your basic mountaineering techniques

  • Identifying and managing risks associated with the practice

  • Progressing in various fields

  • Taking a first step towards autonomy

  • Climbing two beautiful peaks

  • Enjoying the experience!

This program is designed for people with mountaineering experience, it's not an initiation trip. It's important to be in excellent physical shape.

Do you find this mountaineering program tempting? Then don't hesitate to contact me to experience this beautiful adventure together! If you are not sure whether you have the appropriate level, don't hesitate to ask me. And for another great experience in the Southern French Alps I can guide you to the Dôme des Ecrins.

  • Guiding fee

Itinerary

Day 1: Ascent to the Aigle refuge

The ascent to the Aigle refuge is already a true mountain journey! To reach this refuge, we will find some mixed and glacier terrain. Perfect to get back on track! The largest altitude change of the whole 3 days is here: 1800m.

Day 2: La Meije Orientale - Ascent: 500m / 4hs

The normal route of La Meije Orientale is a splendid varied journey: glacial path, snow slope, mixed edge… and a breathtaking panorama.

Day 3: Le Doigt de Dieu - Ascent: 600m / 4hs

The mythical Doigt de Dieu! This summit pours on the 800m of the South face of La Meije. Suffice to say that the vibes are waiting for you! Today the challenges are rather of a rocky nature…

Mountain Leader

UIAGM mountain guide.

My base camp is at Champcella, in the High Alps, at the foot of the Ecrins and right next to the Queyras. I've fallen in love with this region, ideal for year-round mountain practices. It's a true paradise in the open air: alpinism, ice climbing, ski touring, off-piste ski, chutes, snowshoeing, via ferrata, canyoning, long hikes... almost anything can be done in this region!

This advanced base camp also allows me to easily explore every corner in the Alps, this multi-faceted massif that you can keep exploring your whole life... The most renown ones are Mont Blanc, Ecrins, Valais, Oberland and Dolomites, but there are also many less known massifs, far from the crowds! And from the Alps to other massifs in the world, there is sometimes only one step!

But way beyond the geographical wanderings, I consider mountain adventures as an inner journey above all, a journey guided by the joy of your discovery, by friendship and simply the pleasure of being.

The rope, a very symbolic link, much stronger than the piece of nylon that keeps alpinists together, is to me more exciting and rewarding than the sole "conquest" of a summit, than the sole technical and physical achievement.

Alpinism is a human adventure above all!

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Maxine

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Cami

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
