Rongai is one of the routes to climb Mont Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania. It is a remote route, not so often used. It ranges second in ease of climbing.
The route consists of an approach from the north side of the mountain, which is less forested, and a descent through the Marangu route. The Rongai route has different options, I describe here the one that takes Mawenzi Tarn. The 2nd day of this climb is very long, therefore it can be divided in two days. In this way, you would also get a better acclimatization.
The portion that includes the ascent to the Uhuru Peak is the same as in the Marangu Route, that leaves from Kibo Hut.
During the trip in the mountain, we will sleep in tents that the porters pitch. This hike is quite tough and steep, you need to be fit and used to walks in mountainous areas. A sleeping bag, walking poles and warm clothes are required.
If you are interested in climbing Kilimanjaro through the Rongai route or any other (Marangu, Machame or Lemosho route) please get in touch with me and let's discuss it. It will be my pleasure to help you organize this beautiful adventure.

Please get in touch with me if you are interested by coming to Tanzania, for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro or any other exiting adventure you wish to experience !
Our company was established with the aim of promoting both local and global tourism. May I say that nowhere else will you feel really in Tanzania than at our organisation. Years of experience have taught us to prepare special programs that take you off the beaten tracks (eg. Rubondo National Park, Gombe National Park, Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro Crater Highland, Lake Natron, Oldonyo Lengai mountains, Longido Mountains and Monduli Mountains).
This of course, is in addition to the already popular places of Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Mount Kilimanjaro in the North, and Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha and Udzungwa in the South. Last but not least beach holidays on the islands of Zanzibar, Mafia and Pemba are also among our programs. Some National Parks extension trips in Kenya and Gorilla tracking Safaris in Uganda and Rwanda are coordinated as well.
We have something to satisfy anyone's budget, from single seats on a vehicle safari, to exclusive safaris, incentive tours, educational and cultural safaris, ecological tours, and face-to-face safaris. You have the option to choose our basic "Canvas Safaris" or let us arrange a stay at luxury 5-star hotels.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
