* Take in stunning views of southern Germany.
* Climb several peaks along this classic alpine ridge line.
* Get the unique experience of spending a night in a bivouac box.
Nestled into the Bavarian Alps in the south of Germany, the Jubiläumsgrat is a popular climbing route that heads up along the arête between the Zugspitze (2.962 meters) and the Hochblassen (2.706 meters).
Affectionately knows as Jubi in climbing circles, the six-kilometer ridge line is usually best climbed in the summer, but for a real challenge, we’ll be heading along it during the winter!
As long as the weather cooperates with us, we’ll be able to make a thrilling and adrenaline-pumping “tight rope walk” along the ridge, enjoying spectacular views out over some of the tallest and most iconic peaks in Germany.
We will also get the chance to climb the three peaks of the Höllentalspitzen (2.740 meters) and the Vollkarspitze (2.630 meters) along the way. These peaks sit on the ridge line and provide even more excellent views both back out the way we came and further along the ridge.
As the trip takes two days, we will spend the night in the famed bivouac box at Jubiläumsgrat, which can comfortably sleep up to 12 climbers and adds to the alpine experience.
In order to fully and safely enjoy this experience, you should be an experienced mountaineer in excellent physical condition as the climbing is both quite technical and tough.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this unforgettable winter traverse of the Jubiläumsgrat in Germany’s Bavarian Alps!

Mountain Guide
My name is Andreas Biberger. I grew up in Mittenwald, in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Already as a child I was drawn to the mountains and spent a lot of time as a child on skis. At some point I started with rock climbing and everything developed gradually. After school, I first learned the profession of coach builder for cars and I also liked it a lot.
Again and again I also joined climbing courses at the local mountain school. Then I started a training to become a state-certified mountain and ski guide. I have always been passionate about endurance sports so I also tried other sports, such as triathlon, and participated in probably the most famous competition, the Ironman in Hawaii. Mountain biking is another big passion of mine.
I am a certified-IFMGA mountain guide, and for more than 20 years I have accompanied guests through the Alps several times a year. But I still like to travel in my homeland in the mountains and guide my guests to lesser-known but beautiful peaks.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
