Description

Are you ready for an exciting mountaineering experience in the Dolomites? Then come to the top of its highest mountain, Marmolada, under expert guidance. Don’t miss your chance!

The Marmolada, “Queen of the Dolomites”, is a multi-peak mountain straddling the Veneto and Trentino regions, in northeastern Italy. Its highest summit, Punta Penia (3,343 m), is also the highest peak of the Dolomite Mountains, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.

This day tour starts from Passo Fedaia to the Pian dei Fiacconi (2626m). From this charming mountain hut, we will start the scenic ascent of this stunning mountain. The normal route features exciting turns crossing the only large glacier in the Dolomites, which lies on the North face. In the South face, the “Silver Wall” is an impressive rocky wall rising almost 1,000m. From the main summit of Marmolada, we will enjoy panoramic views of the colossal Dolomites!

Please keep in mind that this climb requires a good fitness level and previous mountaineering experience. Additionally, keep in mind that we will use ice axes and crampons. Furthermore, we will cross a short via ferrata on a really exposed stage of the climb. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you on the way.

Day 1: Marmolada ascent

The outing starts at 8am from Pian dei Fiacconi Hut – Passo Fedaia lifts. We’ll be back in the same place at 5.30pm.

Mountain Guide

I was born in the plain in 1983, but as often happens to those who were born there, I have always loved the mountains. I was three years old when I wore my first skis, not knowing that this would become my strongest passion ... Skiing, walking, climbing: it is since I was a child that I go to the mountains, first with my parents and my grandfather and then with my friends.

The degree in forestry science was only the logical consequence of this passion, as well as the beautiful summers spent managing the refuge Capanna Punta Penia in Marmolada (the highest refuge in the Dolomites, on top of the highest mountain in the Dolomites!), which I call "the bus without wheels" and all over the Dolomites!
The last step (for now...) was to become a Mountain Guide, to let you experience what the mountain transmits to me!
