* Discover the stunning Makalu in the Himalayas!

* Join a 60-day mountaineering program in Nepal!

* Revel at the stunning Himalayan landscapes and culture!

Description

With its 8462 meters, Makalu is the 5th highest mountain in the world. It is one of the most difficult mountains over 8000 meters. Actually, it implies a very serious climb which must be done under the strict supervision of a local certified mountain guide.

Therefore I bring this exciting and quite demanding expedition, which will last 60 days. On day 1 we'll fly to Tumlingtar. Once here we'll start a 12-day trek in direction to the Makalu Base Camp. On the way we'll pass through many interesting spots like: Mure, Mane Bhanjyang, Tashigaon, Unshisha, Murmi Danda, Merek Langmale Kharka, Nghe Kharka and Khongma.

The Makalu ascent will take place from day 14 on. The climb up to the summit will take several days since we must acclimatize our bodies progressively. Once we reach the summit and celebrate such a goal we will return and fly back to Tumlingtar and Kathmandu, where we'll be arriving by day 60.

If you're in search of a shorter expedition you can check out my 28-day trip to Ama Dablam Peak. A really amazing adventure also suitable for advanced mountaineers.

So get in touch with me by filling out the form and I'll answer as soon as possible. As your local IFMGA guide I'll be happy to lead this unique adventure in the Himalaya!

Mountain Guide

I have been climbing since 1996, starting on the 8000m mountains in the Himalaya. I'm one of the few IFMGA/NNMGA certified mountain guides (Instructor) from south Asia, gaining my qualification from the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association (NZMGA) & Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA).
I have successfully guided on Mt Everest on multiple occasions, and other 8000m peaks such as Mt Cho-oyu (8,201m) (3 times), Sisha Pangma (8,013m), Mt. Manaslu (8,163m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Lhotse (8,515m) and many more.
I have have also a strong international climbing experience and extensive knowledge of the logistics, planning and group dynamic that are also very crucial to successfully lead adventures in the Himalaya and around the world. I guided in New Zealand, Norway, France, Scotland, Thailand, Bhutan, Pakistan, India and Tibet.
I'm also a rescue expert and a technical trainer for the mountain guides training.
I very much like guiding my clients in remote places, where no tourist goes. I like also discovering new routes and peaks. Please have a look to the different trekking and mountaineering expeditions I propose and contact me if you want to discuss about them. I can of course also guide you in more 'classic' routes, just get in touch with me and let's talk about your wishes!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
