Description

I want to invite you to discover Churup Lake (4450 m), a beautiful turquoise lagoon, located in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range, in the Peruvian Andes. Join me in this 1-day guided hike and let's spend a great day with a stunning scenery!

Churup Lake is located in the Huascaran National Park, about 20 km east of the city of Huaraz. It is nestled at the base of the snow covered Churup peak (5495 m). Besides, its water is absolutely clear. Also, it has an intense blue color near the borders of the lake.

Along this day, you we will also have the possibility to see traditional adobe houses and farmlands. Besides, local people on their traditional clothes, working the land with their hands.

We will leave the city of Huaraz by private transport to the small village of Llupa (3450 m). Then, we will start our hike to the Churup Lake. We will walk for about 4 to 4.30 hours to the lagoon.

We will stay there for about an hour. So, we will be able to enjoy the beauty of the lake and amazing sights. Then, we will start our hike back to the city of Huaraz.

I was born and raised in the hamlet of Yarush in 1987, at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca. From very young age i was born my passion for the mountains. In 2003 I started as enthusiast to climbing in rock next to my brother Eloy. In 2009 i obtained the title as ''official guide of high mountain'', i also ranks first in his class.
I enjoys doing sports climbing and opening new avenues in the cordillera Blanca, and in other countries. My wide experience has meant that he has climbed most of the mountains in cordillera blanca.
