Description

At 8,188 meters, Cho Oyu, which means Turquoise Goddess in Tibetan, is the sixth highest mountain in the world. That alone makes climbing it a once-in-a-lifetime event. Of the 8000 meter peaks, Cho Oyu is also considered to be the easiest to climb. However, it is still a challenge climbing this mountain. But I intend to guide you safely to its magnificent summit, where you will get to enjoy the kinds of views most people can only dream of.

The expedition to the top of Cho Oyu will take approximately 6 weeks. The trip will begin and end in Kathmandu, but in between that time, there is no set schedule. Instead, I prefer to create a schedule based on several criteria that we can discuss. That criteria includes how long you plan to stay in Nepal, what kind of trip you want to experience, and how much you want to see and explore.

When it comes to climbing experiences and the scenery you can witness, you can't do much better than Cho Oyu. And with the mountain being only 20 kilometres from Mount Everest (8,848m) and other famous Himalayan peaks, you will be in awe for every day of the approximate 6 week journey.

Climbing Cho Oyu, like any of the great mountains in Nepal, is a magical thrill. It is something that you can reflect on for the rest of your life. And because of that impact, I want to tailor the trip so it not reaches, but surpasses your expectations. So please send me a message, so we discuss how to make this trip perfect for you.

And if you are interested in climbing other beautiful peaks in Nepal, I also offer expeditions to the summits of Mount Lhakpa Ri and the Mera Peak.

I’ve climbed Mt Everest (7 times), Mt Cho Oyu in Tibet (2 times), Mt Ama Dablam (8 times), Baruntse (2 times), Island peak (15 times), Lobuche (10 times), Pokhalde (10 times), Mera peak (10 times), Mehera peak (5 times), Chulu far east (3 times), Mt Shishapangma until camp 3, Manaslu until 7200m, and Chulu West, Lhakpa ri and other another few more times.

I also have extensive experience of climbing in Europe: France, Italy, UK and Norway (where I work for three months during the summer as a glacier guide).
I'm also a technical mountain rescue coordinator for the 8000's.

It will be my pleasure to guide you through your journey whether for trekking, peak climbing or any mountaineering expedition. Get in touch and let's discuss about the purpose of your trip.

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
