Come with me and enjoy a snowshoeing experience in the Chamonix Valley. This famous winter center in Europe offers options for everyone!
Chamonix is a perfect valley for the practice of snowshoeing. Here you’ll find a winter walk suitable for your skills and experience level. In fact, it’s not necessary to have a snowshoeing background. All you need is to be fit because we will face several uphill trails. So, if you love winter walks and stunning sceneries far from the crowds, then this full-day private tour is ideal for you and your friends.
I have several snowshoeing options for you in Chamonix. You can also decide the level of intensity and difficulty of the walks. They really are custom trips specially designed for each client. These trips are available from mid-December until end of April.
If you have some doubts about which is the best snowshoeing trip for you, I will be here to give you advice and help you make up your mind.
The full-day treks I offer are usually from 09:00 till 16:00. The full-day tour lets you explore many different places, and even it’s possible to include a summit attempt if you wish!
You can find below a sample itinerary of the program, but I’ll adapt it to your wishes, expectations and physical condition.
Sample of a full-day snowshoe walk:
The full-day snowshoe walks include the Chalets de Loriaz or the Chalets de Chailloux, the Aiguillette des Posettes or the Aiguillette des Houches. You can also choose a trip up to the Refuge de la Pierre à Bérard. If you prefer exploring further afield, there are plenty of fantastic options within a short drive of Chamonix.
One of the best snowshoe treks is the summit of the Tête de Sallaz in the Aravis. From there you have the most amazing views of Mont Blanc. Other daily walks include Mont de L’Arpille in Switzerland, with a stunning view into the Rhone valley or a snowshoe hike up to the Refugio Bonnati in Italy’s Val Ferret. A trip up to the hamlet of Ayères and above the resort of Plaine Joux is also possible. My hope is to reach the best spots of Chamonix only on foot.
So please contact me if you are planning to come to the Chamonix Valley. This private tour is a perfect option to discover the wildest points of the valley in an easy and safe way. Fill out the form and get in touch with me!

Meeting point
Are the snowshoes provided?
Yes, these are included in the price, as well as the walking poles and the transceivers.
How soon should I book?
You should book as soon as possible. More and more people wish to snowshoe with us in the Chamonix valley. The soonest you book, the more chance you’ll have to have a guide with us, either myself, either someone else from our team.
Is it possible to book a 1/2-day instead of a full day?
Yes, sure it’s possible. When inquiring, please specify if you would prefer in the morning or afternoon. You’ll find the details about the 1/2-day option here https://www.explore-share.com/trip/chamonix-half-day-snowshoeing. Extending to several days is also an option.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
For snowshoeing I recommend any brand of boot that is a hiking boot, has ankle support and is waterproof. Not low-cut trainers! I’ll provide the snowshoes and walking poles.
What is include in the price I need to pay here?
The price you’ll pay here to confirm your booking includes:
When do we start and finish?
We normally start at 09:00 and finish around 16:30.
What happens if there is not enough snow to go snowshoeing?
If there is no (not enough) snow, we'd simply go for a beautiful hike instead.
Where are the places where you could bring us snowshoeing?
Where we would go depends entirely on: weather conditions, snow conditions, avalanche risk, group fitness and desire (i.e. whether you want easy, moderate or challenging). So if there’s something in particular you had in mind, you can just let me know, or if you’ve done something previously we’ll make sure you don’t repeat it. Snowshoe hikes that I offer include:
These are all short drives in the Chamonix valley and are all beautiful!
Slightly further afield would be:
Each route has different reasons to choose depending on weather & snow!
Do I need personal insurance before embarking on this trip?
Yes, personal insurance is mandatory for all participants.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
