Description

The Piz Boe (3,152m) is a fantastic peak in the Sella Group in the Dolomites of Italy. In fact it is the highest peak in the entire Sella Group massif. And on this day trip you will get to reach the top by way of the thrilling and incredibly scenic Cesare  Piazetta via ferrata.

Like all via ferratas, the Cesare Piazetta via ferrata is an exciting, unforgettable experience. It will feel like you are walking on the walls of the mountain itself. And while such a concept can seem frightening at first, you can rest assured that you will be safe and secure at all times.

This trip will last between 4 and 6 hours. And every minute of the way you will get to admire the beauty of the Sella Group massif and the Dolomite mountain range.

Beginning at Passo Pordoi, we will make our way along a hiking trail until we reach the start of the Cesare Piazetta via ferrata. Once the via ferrata begins, the first 100 meters or so are demanding. As a result, it is important that participants on this trip are in good physical condition. As the day progresses, the via ferrata will get easier. Hence giving you more time to appreciate the priceless views. And when you get to  the top of the Piz Boe, you will get to enjoy the best views of all.

If you like adventure and fantastic views of great peaks, this trip is for you. So send me a request and enjoy the Cesare Piazetta via ferrata. I look forward to hearing from you.

I can also lead you on the oldest via ferrata in the Sella Group, the Mesules via ferrata on this day trip.

Mountain Guide

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
