5 Days
All year
Join me in a trek around the legendary ethnic villages of Berber and then, enjoy an ascent to Mt. Toubkal. A perfect combination for those who love adventures.
What I am proposing you today is a 5-day trip among the most outstanding places of North Africa. This trip includes an amazing tour to the uncrowded but incredible valleys that the region offers.
The first 2 days consists in a trekking expedition in the mountain villages of Berber . The Berbers are indigenous communities distributed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Siwa Oasis in Egypt. You can also find them among the Mediterranean Sea and the Niger River. In our visit you will learn a lot about their history and their incredible way of life.
The following day will be dedicated to move ourselves in direction to our mountain hut. On the way we may can get to the summit of Aguelzim. From there we can admire one of the most beautiful views of the Mount Toubkal, our next goal. When we are at the mountain hut we must get ready for this big objective.
The ascent to Toubkal starts with a prior preparation so that you don’t suffer the effects of the altitude. So, once we have spent enough time in that height, the most expected moment comes. Time to summit this amazing peak!
On the return you will be proud of yourself. This 5-day trip will leave you the best memories since not only you have you been able to learn the interesting history of the villages of Berber, but you have reached the top of the highest mountain of North Africa as well!
At the bottom of this description you’ll find a sample itinerary of this trip. Each day can suffer modifications according to the weather conditions as well as the level of the group. Keep in mind that this expedition combines hiking and mountaineering skills and requires a very good physical shape.
If you want to know when the next departures are or if you’ve any doubts about the booking process, please contact me. It will be my pleasure to help you plan this amazing trip in a region that I love and I know perfectly.
Meeting point
We sett off the Imlil Valley and go through a remote valley until we’re in the Berber village of Tizi Oussem.
We leave Tizi Oussem and we’ll walk over the valley passing by Azib Tamsoult. Then, we’ll climb up the Tiziki coll with the possibility of reaching the 3100-meter summit of Adrar Adj. Finally, we hike down to the Aroumd Valley, where we’ll spend the night.
From Aroumd we will ascend to Sidi Chamharouch for a lunch. We then trek up into the high mountains, reaching the Toubkal Mountain Hut at 3200m.
Today we’ll summit the Jebel Toubkal, with the possibility of returning to the hut by an alternative route which is less walked.
We will return to Imlil. Once in there, we can have lunch and take a taxi back to Marrakech.

Mountain Leader
I am a certified International Mountain Leader and a Summer Mountain Leader (UK). In addition, I hold a Diploma in Conservation and Wildlife Management.
Originally from Great Britain, I am now based near Marrakech, in Morocco. Actually, in a Berber town at the foot of the Berber Mountains.
The love for travel runs in my veins. In the Sahara I lived with nomads. In Siberia I met reindeer herders. In Mongolia I traveled with yurt-dwellers.
The stunning landscapes and nice people of Morocco have enchanted me, which is why I now live here. My goal is sharing with my clients the exotic beauty that I've discovered here.
The environment is of extreme importance to me. In particular, I'm interested in geology and birds of prey.
Besides speaking English and French, I can get by in Berber.
My work is not limited to this area: I also do the Tour du Mont Blanc trek in the Alps.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
