Today I bring a new proposal for those advanced splitboarders who want to improve or renew their current skills. It consists in a 2-day splitboarding course in the Bulgarian ski resort of Bansko, the best of the country.
Let me give you a short introduction about Bansko. As you probably know, it is one of the biggest winter resorts of Bulgaria, situated at 925 meters above sea level. Moreover, the town of Bansko lies at the foot of Pirin Mountain, 150 kilometers far from Sofia, the capital of the country.
Over time, Bansko has been positioning itself as as one of the best ski centers in all the region, attracting many Bulgarian and people around the world. Undoubtedly, Bansko is known among tourists mainly as a destination for skiing, snowboarding and splitboarding. Therefore, it has 75 km of ski tracks, the longest of them with a length of 16 km. Lastly, about 90% of these tracks are equipped with snow cannons providing the highest long-lasting snow quality.
If you want to know more about this learning trip, please find here below some of the lessons you will take during the course:
Use of technical equipment;
Procedures for skiing / snowboarding in avalanche terrain;
Maximize the efficiency when using you skins;
Kick and tricks turning skills;
Techniques of skiing and snow boarding on off-piste skiing runs;
Individual lessons about downhill skiing skills.
This course can be run from 2 persons and up to 5 people maximum. In that way you can take the best of the program. For your information, the price includes all the necessary technical equipment. You’ll only have to bring your own splitboard. You can also rent it for about 40$ pers day.
If you want to know more about departures, lodging or booking, please feel free to contact me. It will be a honour for me to be your splitboarding instructor in a region that I know better than anyone! I await your message.

I started snowboarding when only a few people were doing it. At the time, it was just an emerging sport. We used to experiment modifying our equipment by hand. We didn't know about first lines or powder days, we were simply having fun and enjoying amazing snow.
As things got more serious, I gained experience and learned more about the mountains. I found so many new possibilities!
From the mountains, I learned how to enjoy with just the essentials, to travel lightly and to cherish the company of a friend on the snow. But I also learned responsibility and learned from my mistakes.
This passion led me in 1994 to the Himalayas, where the beauty of the scenery and the amazing peaks were almost overwhelming. In summer, I started exploring the mountain and in this way I discovered climbing.
All of this inspired me to become a professional. Now I have a Ski Instructor Qualification Class C, a Professional Mountain Leader UIMLA Qualification and in 2009 I became the first Bulgarian snowboard guide. Since 2017, I'm a snowboard Instructor qualification Level “3” and international ISIA.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
