An awesome ski tour that combines 2 unique elements: powder skiing and cultural experience. Join me in the north of Japan, in Hokkaido.
Due to its location, the island of Hokkaido benefits from really good quality snow during the first months of the year. Some say that it is the best powder in the world because it is light and abundant.
We can leave together for several days and based on your wishes set up a great program combining:
– Freeride / Off piste skiing in some of the best ski resorts of the island: Niseko, Furano, Asahikawa, Rusutsu…
– Ski touring / Backcountry skiing on some volcanoes like Mt Yotei, Mt Asahidake…
We can even go to Rishiri and experience the far north conditions!
As a guide, I will define the itinerary based on what type of ski you want to do, the time you have here, the level of skiing you want to do and the snow conditions of course!
I can also recommend accommodations for you depending on what you want: budget, onsen, food, traditional (ryokan) or more modern lodging, location etc.
I usually select some spots and we move from one to the other during the trip using my van. This gives us also some flexibility and the chance to go where the conditions are the best.
Being guided here with a local allows you to access the best skiing areas. But it's also great to learn about the Japanese culture, the traditions, our history…
I'm a IFMGA / UIAGM mountain guide living in Sapporo, the main city of Hokkaido. I love backcountry skiing and above all, freeriding!
Please get in touch with me if you are interested to come here and know more about the different options. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you live an unforgettable skiing and cultural experience.
I recommend you to read this great article about 2 clients that joined me in January 2016 for a 10-day backcountry and off piste skiing tour in Hokkaido and this story about 5 friends that I guided in January 2017. They will give you a good idea about the experience we can share together.

Mountain Guide
Japanese IFMGA / UIAGM mountain guide
I was born in 1977 in Sapporo. I'm still living here today, guiding my friends and clients in Hokkaido and Honshu but also all around the world. I did many ski expeditions going down some of the most known peaks on hearth: Mt Manaslu (8193m), McKinley, Alaska, Greenland, Mt Muztagh Ata (China), South Pole, Mount Darwin (Patagonia), Mont Blanc... I also did many extreme skiing contests.
I got my IFMGA certificate in 2014.
Please get in touch with me if you wish to come to Japan for some great skiing. I will be happy to guide your here and let you live an unforgettable experience !

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
