* Capture the breathtaking views of the iconic Catalan mountainside.

* Benefit from having a mountain guide accompanying you on the climb.

Description

The prominent double peak of the Pedraforca soars above the stunning scenery of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.

The upper ridge, called Pollegó Superior, rises to 2,506 meters, with the second ridge, called El Calderer, rising to 2,496 meters.

The unique shape of Pedraforca has made it one of the most emblematic mountains in the whole of Catalonia, along with the jagged peaks of Montserrat and the high mountain of Canigó.

Pedraforca is homed within the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, located in the north of Catalonia close to the border with Andorra. The protected mountainous region stretches across the regions of Alt Urgell, Berguedá and Cerdanya.

The best way to conquer the summit is via the Coll del Verdet route, which offers spectacular views and technical terrain.

Scattered throughout the park are ravines, caves, grottos and chasms mostly made from limestone rock.

The rich and beautiful park is not only home to rugged mountains but wonderful wildlife. There are approximately 60 species of mammals thriving in the alpine landscape, from wolves and chamois to deer and wild boar, all on the move within the forest.

In order to join a group climb, participants must be 14 years old or above, have a good level of fitness, and be able to endure 5 hours of climbing over 9 kilometres.

Mountain Leader

My father and grandfather taught me to love the mountains from a very young age. At 12, I did my first rappel...down the wall of the village church (the priest wasn't there). That's where it all started...

I'm passionate about nature, climbing, mountaineering and ski touring and have been calling the Lleida Pyrenees home for as long as I can remember.

As a UIMLA-mountain leader, I have led trips and expeditions in America (Peru, US and Canada), the Alps, the High Atlas and even Ladakh (Indian Himalaya) and Yamalia (Russian Arctic). Since 2014, I am in charge of snow and avalanche training at ACNA (Asociación Conocimiento Nieves y Aludes).

For me, guiding is not work: it is my passion. Each tour and expedition provides a new chance to discover and share what surrounds us. Respect for the environment, nature and local culture are at the basis of my philosophy of life, which I try to share with joy.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
