Description

This program consists in climbing the Pequeño Alpamayo, a beautiful 5425-meter peak in the Condoriri Massif. I would like to offer two different routes, according to your technical level. As a local IFMGA mountain guide I can help you choose the perfect itinerary!

The Pequeño Alpamayo is quite similar to the Peruvian Alpamayo peak. That is why it is named like that. It is also a really impressive, beautiful, and therefore popular summit in Bolivia. Its ice-capped pyramidal shape makes the Pequeño Alpamayo seem more difficult to climb than it really is.

We can plan a 3-day trip, following an easier ascent route than the 4-day route. You can find the dates and itinerary of this regular route at the end of this page.

Otherwise, we can make it in 4 days. This option also includes the ascent of the Austria Peak. From our base camp at the Chiar Khota Lake, we will ascent through moraine lands until we reach the summit of the Austria Peak (4-hour ascent).

The following day we will continue towards our next and biggest goal. First we must climb the Pico Tarija (5,300 m) and then we will continue to finally conquer the Pequeño Alpamayo's summit. In the morning of the fourth day we will pack our camp and return to Rinconada, where our transfer will be waiting to take us back to La Paz.

Please contact me if you find this ascent interesting. I can help you decide which is the most suitable climbing option for you. Don't miss out on this beautiful mountain in the Condoriri Massif.

Mountain Guide

IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide from Bolivia.

I made my first ascent at an early age. I have been guiding professionally for over 20 years, passed safety and rescue courses in the sister Republic of Peru with Swiss trainers, and my training culminated with the French school of the ENSA (National School of Sky & Mountaineering) International certification UIAGM opt / IFMGA.

I conquered the Summit of Bolivar, Humboldt and others in Venezuela, the peaks of Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador, Alpamayo and Huascaran in Peru, and also reached the summit of Aconcagua (6954 m) twice the same day from Base Camp ( Plaza de Mulas) in Argentina.

My knowledge of the Cordillera Real in Bolivia is very extensive, so much so that I helped the Military Geographical Institute produce their map of the Cordillera Real (the only official map of the area). I am an active member of the Bolivian Andean Club.
I was also hired by the President of Bolivia (then) - Jorge Quiroga - to climb Huayna Potosi and many delegations of embassies.

Nowadays I work together with a group of local guides, also AGMTB and IFMGA. So if I can't guide myself the trip you request, a colleague of mine will guide to an unforgettable time in the Bolivian mountains!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
