Throughout the long journey that will cover approximately 100 kilometers you will get to see a long, exciting list of highlights, all of which will show you what makes the Ardennes so special. You will get to trek through various types of landscapes, from grasslands and basins to pastures and plateaus, and enjoy several mesmerizing panoramic views that stretch out as far as the eye can see.
There will be several valleys you will get to trek through including the Ourthe, Woltz and Witlz on this trip as well. You will also get to make you way through a number of wonderful, welcoming villages, and hear the soothing sound of rippling water near various creeks and rivers.
Your self-guided adventure will begin in Wiltz, where you will settle into your hotel. On the next day, after a short train ride to Kautenbach, your journey will begin. From there each day will provide you with many hours and many kilometers of wonderful views and visits to a number of great spots.
The trail you will be following through the Ardennes is on the list of Leading Quality Trails in Europe. And you can be assured the label is well earned.

Meeting point
You will arrive at Wiltz by either car or train before settling into your hotel for the night.
You will take a short train ride from Wiltz to Kautenbach. From there, you will begin hiking toward Alscheid and then toward Lellingen, where you can enjoy a great view of Kischpelt. After passing some villages and nearing the Walber hill, you will then continue toward the Irbach valley, pass the Nol bridge and go through the village of Munshausen before reaching Clervaux, where you will spend the night.
From Clervaux, you will follow the creek upstream to the forest of Beischend, which you will trek through. It includes many memorial sites from the war and also offers great views. Afterwards, you will continue on until you reach Asselborn, where you will spend the night.
After leaving Asselborn, you will make your way through the valley to Emeschbaach and then on the plateau to Hoffelt. After that, you will cross the border into Belgium and pass by several villages, including Buret and Tavigny, until you reach Alhoumont and then the town of Houffalize, where you will spend the night.
After leaving Houffalize, you will enter the valley of Nabiselle before reaching the plateau and passing the village of Bonnerue. After that, you will reach the Nisramont dam then Ollomont and then Nadrin, where you will spend the night.
On the final day of the trek, you will depart Nadrin. While hiking along the river, you will reach the Celtic site of Chesle before arriving at Berismenil. After that, you will pass the small hamlets of Maboge and Borzee before reaching La Roche, which will conclude the trip.

Participants should bring the following items with them: a cap, sunglasses, a rain cape, proper hiking shoes, breathable underwear, waterproof and breathable goretex jacket, t-shirts, gloves, swimsuit, walking socks, a pocket knife, toilet paper, walking sticks, lighter, camera and personal medications. You should bring 2 bags, one which you will carry while hiking and another that we will transport.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much.
