Description

On this amazing course you will get to explore the famous and stunning Aosta valley of Italy. This beautiful place is home to some great skiing and equally impressive scenery.

The course I am offering in the Aosta valley lasts 5 days, and focuses on helping you learn how to splitboard on the backcountry of a mountainous terrain. So if you are interested in exploring an area intimately instead of just admiring it from afar, this course is for you.

There will be many things that will be covered during this splitboarding course. Just a few examples include the following.

  • A keen understanding of splitboarding equipment

  • Splitboarding training on the slopes of the Aosta valley

  • Route planning

  • Learning how to properly use avalanche safety equipment, including probe, shovel and transceiver

  • Being comfortable with mountaineering equipment

On this course you will also get to visit several fantastic places within the Aosta valley. Some  examples include Courmayeur and La Thuile. You will also get to visit areas like Punta Croce and the Testa dei Fra, where you can put what you’ve learned during the course into practice in the Mont Blanc massif! There will even be time dedicated to glacier splitboarding. And to reach the area’s famed glaciers you will get to ride the lifts from Helbronner.

So if you want to learn, have a great time, and attain skills you will surely use in future splitboarding expeditions, just send me a request. I look forward to guiding you in the magnificent Aosta valley.

I also offer a 3 day splitboard and snowboard course in Courmayeur as well.

Price includes

- Guiding fee

- Transport during the trip

- Lifts tickets

I was born in 1966. I was an aspirant Mountain Guide from 1986 and a Mountain Guide (IFMGA) as from 1989. In 1988, I joined the Mountain Guides company of Courmayeur, which was the 1st Italian guiding company and the 2nd in the world in 1850. From 1995 to 2001, I had the role of leading guide with as main function the coordination of the work and the promotion of the guiding programs we were organising.
From 1986, I worked in the Mountain Rescue Team of the Aosta Valley. I became a Mountain Rescue Instructor in 2000. As a mountain guide, I practice a lot mountaineering, rock climbing, off-piste skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, etc.
The past 22 years, I have climbed with my clients many classic routes in the Alps, of mixed, ice and rock; I have climbed the mountains of South America (Aconcagua in Argentina, Cordillera Blanca in Peru, trekking in Torres del Paine in Chile and Fitz Roy in Argentina, the slopes of Alpamayo Pequeno, Sajama, Huayna Potosi, in Illimani Bolivia, Cayambe, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo in Ecuador). Each year, I keep on travelling the Andes with clients and friends to discover new mountains to satisfy the desire of mountaineering.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
