Description

Chamonix is famous for its amazing sceneries and exciting opportunities for climbing and mountaineering.

On this trip, you will have the chance to explore one or more of the classic alpine climbing routes of the Mont Blanc massif. I'll choose one of these itineraries according to your experience and the route conditions:

Arête des Cosmiques

This is the most popular climb in the Chamonix area and a must-do for both beginners and experienced climbers.

Located in Aiguille du Midi, at the heart of the majestic Mont Blanc massif, you’ll find the unique rock towers of Arête des Cosmiques (also known as Cosmique ridge).

This is a nice classic ascent in mixed terrain (snow, ice, and rock), that requires some previous mountaineering experience and being in very good physical shape. It also allows you to enjoy some breathtaking Alpine views!

Due to its easy access (a short approach from Aiguille du Midi cable car), this route can be very crowded.

The whole route demands 4-5 hours of varied climbing, including rock climbing, ice climbing, and abseiling. Besides, there are sections with great exposure and parts that may require using crampons. The route has been graded as AD (fairly hard).

Pointe Lachenal

This is a nice, short, and not very hard climb. It’s ideal for beginners seeking an introductory experience in the Alps and also for those who need training or acclimatization to climb higher objectives, like the iconic Mont Blanc.

It is easy to access from the Aiguille du Midi cable car. From the station, we’ll descend through the Aiguille du Midi ridge. Then, after a small slope, we’ll climb Pointe Lachenal ridge up to the summit. In fact, this peak has several summits, the highest of them at 3613 m.

Besides being a great training climb in mixed terrain, you’ll find stunning views to enjoy!

Aiguilles d’Entrèves

An exciting mountaineering traverse on the border between Italy and France. We’ll take the exposed ridge of Aiguilles d’Entrèves,  a 3604 m peak of the Mont Blanc massif.

The starting point of this route can be either the top of Aiguille du Midi (that can be reached by cable car) or the Torino Hut (on the Italian side). Because of the flexible itinerary, you can choose the duration of the adventure too.

During this traverse, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks like Mont Blanc du Tacul, Tour Ronde, and the Brenva face of Mont Blanc.

Are you ready for a great adventure in the iconic Mont Blanc massif? Send a request to book this trip and let's go climbing together!

If you are also planning to ascent Mont Blanc, you should check this 3-day ascent.

Mountain Guide

I am an IFMGA mountain guide living in Cyprus. I have a passion for exploring the mountains since I was child. Kyperounda, the town where I was born and raised, was my first playground, the place where I started practising different outdoor activities.

First I learnt skiing. Then, I started training and taking part in races and competitions, traveling extensively in Europe. As I am very curious, I kept trying all kinds of sports until I discovered climbing and all its exciting possibilities.

I also developed both my academic and my practical skills in the university, where I studied Outdoor Studies and Sport Science. During that time, I obtained qualifications as a Mountain Leader and a Climber.

Teaching other people is one of the things I like the most. I find a deep joy in helping others to enjoy the mountains as much as I do.

The experience of all these years as well as my technical skills, have taken me closer to my goal: becoming an IFMGA mountain guide.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
