Highlights

  • Ascend the classic Cosmiques Ridge and discover stunning snow-capped scenery.
  • Witness the French, Italian and Swiss Alps as we climb the Aiguille du Midi.
  • First ascended in 1911, the ridge is interesting yet not too difficult.

Description

Clinging to the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps, the Aiguille du Midi mountain stretches to 3,842 meters (12,605ft). Ascend to the snow-packed peaks that offer stunning panoramic views.

The Aiguille du Midi (French for Needle of the Midday) is the highest mountain peak served by an aerial system, and offers breathtaking views of the French, Italian and Swiss Alps.

We will reach the summit via the Cosmiques Ridge, a short route of rock and ice that is popular with climbers for all-around mountaineering skills.

First ascended in 1911, the Cosmiques Ridge is an interesting, yet not too difficult, route. The exposed ridgeline offers amazing views in all directions.

With a maximum guide ratio of 1:2, I can offer much more personal instruction and guidance for you, making the trip both safer and exciting.

The benefit of climbing the Cosmiques Ridge is that its wonderful views are relatively easily assessable, so can be conquered by people who don’t have much climbing experience. However, you are expected to have a good level of fitness.

Reserve your place now to climb the classic Cosmiques Ridge on the Mont Blanc massif and reach the peak of the Aiguille du Midi.

Mountain Guide

I'm an IFMGA mountain guide from Romania and a member of the Austrian Mountain Guides Association (VOBS) and the East European Mountain Guides Association(EEMGA).

My passions are alpinism, rock and ice climbing and ski touring. Over the last decade and a half I have climbed and skied all corners of the World, spent numerous seasons guiding in the Himalayas, New Zealand, Alps and the Carpathians Mountains.

My primary concern as your guide is your safety. With that comes a great deal of fun, learning and engaging in experiences that will be memorable for a lifetime. I hope to have the opportunity to climb with you and help you achieve climbs, summits and experiences not yet imagined!

I have a very strict policy on guide-to-guest ratios for all types of terrain and these are clearly explained prior to engagement. For multi pitch climbs it is usually 1:1 and it never exceeds 1:2. For single pitch venues (especially on instructional outings) it never exceeds 1:4. Higher ratios are possible with the hiring of additional guides and only following prior arrangements. For treks and ski tours the ratios are more generous but depending on the terrain and/or the group’s experience.

I am comfortable in using for guiding and teaching purposes the following languages: English and Romanian.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
