Itinerary

Day 1: Meeting point in Granada, Madrid or Jaén

Departure, destination Torla in Huesca. The duration of the trip is 12 hours. Estimated arrival
about 18:00 h to the place of accommodation to give us time to rest and
relax, so that we can rest at the beginning of the route.

Day 2: Stage 1: Torla - Góriz

STAGE 1, Torla – Góriz

We take the bus from Torla, (the first leaves around 06:00 in the morning).

We start our route in the Praderas de Ordesa, from where we will go up
thorugh the Ordesa Valley.

We will pass the Cotatuero waterfall, the
Cave, we will go along a forest of firs, beech and pine trees, until the
road brings us up to the famous Gradas de Sodaso. From here you will be able to see the
summits of Monte Perdido, Cilindro and Sound de Ramond.

At the bottom there will be
the most famous of all the Ordesa waterfalls: la Cola de Caballo. We continue
ascending the Gradas de Soaso (optional) to finally reach the Goriz Mountain Hut, at 2190 meters of altitude, where we will have dinner and rest before attacking the
top.

Time: 5 – 6 hours. Distance: 12.4 km.
Positive drop: 1356 m.
Negative slope: 500 m.

Ascent to Monte Perdido:

During the first part of the climb, we will always be climbing parallel to the Góriz ravine, leading us to save 800 meters of slope that separate us from the Ice Lake.

On our left, we will appreciate the Cilindro de Marboré (3328 mt), but we will take the right way , going up a busy gravel pit leading us to the famous way called “la escupidera.”

We reached the top of Monte Perdido at 3,355
meters high.

The return will be done by retracing our steps, concluding the day.

Once at the Goriz hut we will have dinner and spend our second night.

Time: 4 hours Distance: 8.8 km.
Positive slope: 1270 m.
Negative difference: 1265 m.

Day 3: Stage 2: Góriz mountain hut - Pineta mountain hut

Difficulty: strong final descent (1200m) to reach the Pineta Mountain Hut.

The alternative option for the Faixa deras Solas, is dangerous and usually in bad conditions. In case of snow or ice, we should avoid it.

The path runs through the  Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park and takes us from Goriz Hut up to the Pineta Hut.
Departing from Goriz (2159 m), the GR11 reaches the Collado de Arrablo (2329 m), which separates Punta
Custodia (to the right) of the three thousand Ordesa.

On our left, we will be able to see the Punta de las Escaleras, Monte Perdido, Morrón de Arrablo and Punta de las Olas.
In both ways the path reaches Collado de Añisclo (2,453 m). Here we will have one of the strongest slopes of the entire Pyrenean Path, a steep descent of 1,200 m in height
just 3.5 km. From Barranco de la Solana we can get water.

The descent will lead us to the base of the Pineta circus; Pineta Mountain Hut (1240m).

Time: 7 – 8 hours. Distance: 13.5 km.
Positive slope: 880 m.
Negative slope: 1750 m.

Day 4: Stage 3: Pineta mountain hut - Espuguettes mountain hut

From the Valle de Pineta to the Balcon de Pineta. From there, we will go to Brecha de Tucarroya, with a short visit to the Free French refuge.

At the Balcón we will enjoy some spectacular views.
We descend carefully through the Tucarroya path, which no longer has snow (but a
nevero), and we will direct ourselves to the left, briefly entering the Circo de Estaube. We follow the path, which goes up again, until we reach the collado de Hourquette d’Alans, from where you can admire the
Gavarnie valley and the Vignemale in the background. Soft descent to the Espuguettes Mountain Hut.

Time: 6 -9 hours.
Distance: 15.9 km.
Positive drop: 1987 m.
Negative difference: 1248 m
.
Extras: This stage, by distance and slope, will only allow us to include the ascent to I pepper, as long as you are well prepared physically. and depending on the weather conditions.
If we actually do it, we will have some time to rest.

Day 5: Stage 4: Espuguettes mountain hut - Sarradets mountain hut

We leave the Sarradets hut in the direction of the valley of the Circo de Gavanie, until we reach the end of the
path, very close to the waterfalls, to go looking at the beginning of the path of the Escalettes. Where we will have to use our hands to climb some rocks. It will be
a climb with steep slope, but at this point we will be already used to them.
Finally we will reach the Sarradets refuge.
If the climb through the Escalettes, was too dangerous for the group, we will choose another rise,
longer, by the Port of Bujaruelo thus avoiding the danger of the rise.
Time: 5 – 8 hours. Distance: 8 km.
Positive slope: 1050 m.
Negative difference: 465 m.

Extras: This stage, although it has quite a positive slope, the normal thing is that we reach the Refuge
of Sarradets, after 5 h. allowing us to ascend, after eating, to Taillón. One of the
3,000 easiest of all the Pyrenees.

Day 6: Stage 5: Sarradets mountain hut – Torla mountain hut

Departure from the Sarradets hut in the direction of the Brecha de Rolando, starting with a strong
pending, and going through a snowfield prior to the gap but without any difficulty. Once we go through the gap, we will direct ourselves to the Paso de los Sarrios, and from there to the Casteret cave.
At this point, we will begin the descent to the Góriz hut where we will make a good rest.
To return through the valley of Soaso take the bus and return to Torla.

Time: 8 – 9 hours.
Distance: 18.5 km.
Positive drop: 630 m.
Negative difference: 2112 m.

Day 7: Last day!!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
