This demanding 7-day expedition will take you to the heart of the magnificent Haut Jura with local UIMLA-certified mountain leader Lucas.

7 Days

All year

Description

This amazing traverse of the Haut Jura moutain range is reserved for accomplished hikers seeking an expedition filled with adventure and discovery!

The Haut Jura mountain range runs along the Franco-Swiss border. Although not as popular among tourists, the Jura region is well-known for its pristine nature and wonderful serenity. The region's delicious cheeses are also quite famous!

During this traverse, you'll be walking though historic valleys and enjoying breathtaking scenery. Moreover, you'll have the Léman lake and the Alps as a background during the whole trip!

We'll use the train to reach our starting point in Bellegarde sur Valserine. Then, during the next 7 days, you'll get to discover the region's flora and fauna, as well as its stunning alpine views. You'll find adventure behind every corner!

Take into account, however, that you need a very good fitness level to attempt this 7-day hiking traverse. Days are quite long, with around 8-9 hours of walking a day.

If you are looking for a less demanding hiking trip, check out my hiking weekend in the Haut Jura. It is a very good option for beginners!

Contact me now and we'll start planning a trip to the beautiful Haut Jura. You won't regret it!

Mountain Leader

I discovered the joy of the mountains at a very young age, and I knew that my place was there, in the Jura, the Alps, or elsewhere, but in a place where raised terrain allows to go high...
My experience in the Mountain Troops and the Gendarmerie, together with a regular practice of different mountain sports, allowed me to gain knowledge and know-how that enriched my mountain leader training.
In 2012 I got certified as State Mountain Leader (AEM), which allowed me to start fully living my passion for the mountain, and sharing it with you.
I propose to share very varied activities: walking ,hiking, trekking, snowshoeing. It allows me to enjoy precious moments in nature with you.
To complement my leader training, I discovered trail running 8 years ago, a more sportif and intense way to discover the mountain, always respecting the environment.
I can also offer you my expertise in Morocco, where I have been going often during these last years. My knowledge of the field and of the local correspondants allows me to propose magnificent journeys to you!
From the Jura to the Alps, not forgetting Pyrenees, Corsica and Morocco, my approach to the mountain has always been guided by the search of pleasure and the comprehension of the environment.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
