Discover the impressive Maipo Valley, Chile on this exciting 6-day trip. Come with me to experience the incredible adventure of heliboarding in the Chilean Andes. You’ll never forget this trip.

The Maipo Valley is located in the heart of the Chilean Andes, southeast of Santiago de Chile. We’ll meet at the capital and ride towards the helicopter that will take us to El Morado Lodge & Spa, where we’ll be staying the following nights. This trip includes 13 hours of flying time! Enough to experience the beautiful valley and snowboard Chile’s best powder snow. You can also request for extra flying time, at an additional cost.

We’ll start at a lower height to get used to the thin air and altitude and go gaining height as the days progress, always looking for the best spots. There’s also the option to rest for a day and take advantage of the Lodge’s amenities, which include cozy rooms, a spa, a spectacular view and exquisite local cuisine. Besides, it is the closest lodge to the best terrain, giving us more snow time!

This trip is recommended for intermediate snowboarders, but skiers are welcome too! I can also accommodate other skill levels looking for the best terrain to match your skills.

Price does not include additional flying time (€2,600 per hour), personal items and services and expenses in case of evacuation or rescue.

Itinerary

Day 1: Santiago - El Morado Lodge & Spa

We’ll meet at Santiago de Chile and drive to the helicopter airport that will take us to El Morado. Briefing session and safety instructions.

Day 2 to 6: Heliboarding days!

(If you choose to, we can rest for a day)

Day 7: Last day

We’ll heliboard during the day and transfer to the 5-star Ritz Carlton at Santiago de Chile.

Mountain Guide

An Internationally Certified UIAGM / IFMGA Mountain Guide, Rodrigo has been a guide for 30 years. He has led 24 expeditions to Denali and 28 expeditions to Aconcagua — the highest peaks in North and South America, respectively. He has been a member of expeditions to Shisha Pangma and Cho Oyu in the Himalaya, and his climbs in Patagonia include the North and Central Towers of Paine, Agujas Guillaumet and Poincenot, as well as Cerro Torre attempts. He’s made Patagonian Ice Cap explorations including the first east-west traverse of the northern Ice Cap. He holds first ascents in Antarctica, the Andes and Alaska; speed ascents of Denali, Aconcagua, and Juncal. He’s guided the Ellsworth Mountains and Mt. Vinson in Antarctica and has extensive climbing and guiding experience in Yosemite and the Alps, including Frendo Spur and the Grand Jorasses. He’s a former Technical Committee member for the American Mountain Guides Association and a Senior Guide at Exum Mountain Guides in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Rodrigo speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.
