Join this trip to experience one of the most famous ski traverses in all of Europe, a route many aspire to complete. During this 6-day journey, we will explore the legendary massifs of the Alps by skiing among its highest peaks.

The Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, and Grand Combin massifs are home to the highest mountains of the Alps, and some of the most well-known outdoor adventures in all of Europe. During this 6 day cross country ski trip, we will complete the traverse between Grand Combin massif, situated in Switzerland, and the Monte Rosa massif, site of the second highest mountain in the Alps.

Our journey will begin in Chamonix, France, and end 6 days later in Zermatt, Switzerland. The route is truly stunning, as we will ski along glaciers, past the base of the Matterhorn, with views of some of Europe’s most impressive alpine scenery.

We will sleep in mountain refuges along our route, where half board is available. Note that food, water, and fees for nightly mountain huts are not included in the price for this trip, and are anticipated to cost an additional 400-500 euro per person (bring cash in euros). We can provide you with a complete list of the gear and equipment you will need for this trip, as you may need to rent some equipment.

Price details

Price per person to join a group. Price includes: guiding fee, logistics management, advice before departure, accident insurance, group safety equipment. Does not include: fees at mountain refuges, food, water (can be bought at refuges), personal equipment, transfer costs, cable car costs. Expenses for the guide will be split between group participants.

Itinerary

Day 1: Refugio Trient

Today’s route:

Argentiere (1.250 m) to Grands Montets (3.233 m) to Collado de Chardonnet (3.323 m) to Collado de la Fenetre de Saleina (3.261 m) to Refugio Trient (3.170 m), where we will spend the night.

Elevation gain: 965 m

Elevation loss: 940 m ascen

Day 2: Bourg-Sant-Pierre

Today’s route:

Refugio de Trient (3,170 m) to Collado des Encandies (2,796 m) to Champex (1,450 m) to Bourg-Sant-Pierre (1,650 m), where we end the day.

Elevation gain: 100 m

Elevation loss: 1,670 m

Day 3: Refuge Valsorey

Today’s route:

Bourg-Saint-Pierre (1,650 m) to Refuge Valsorey (3,030 m).

Elevation gain: 1,380 m

Day 4: Refugio Chanrion

Today’s route:

Refuge Valsorey (3,030 m) to Plateau du Couloir (3,664 m) to Col du Sonadon (3,504 m) to Refugio Chanrion (2,462 m).

Elevation gain: 934 m

Elevation loss: 1,511 m

Day 5: Vignettes hut

Today’s route:

Chanrion refuge (2,462 m) to Pigne d’Arolla (3,796 m) to Vignettes hut (3,160 m).

Elevation gain: 1,334 m

Elevation loss: 612 m

Day 6: Zermatt

Today’s route:

Vignettes hut (3,160 m) to Col de l’Eveque (3,392 m) to Col de Mont Brul (3,213 m) to Col de Valpelline (3,568 m) to Zermatt (1,600 m).

Elevation gain: 1,173 m

Elevation loss: 2,670 m

Mountain Guide

I love what I do and love to transmit my passion while guiding.

After touring the world fulfilling my dreams, I have put together all the knowledge gained and a strong background as a mountain guide to become one of the most versatile, dedicated and professional guides in the Pyrenees.

My resume has technical training in mountain medicine, snow studies, search and rescue complete training, meteorology and botany.

I spend the winters enjoying the unique snow conditions in the Aran Valley, as a ski touring and freeride Guide, and summers climbing the countless areas of excellent rock, either granite, limestone or conglomerate in the Pyrenees. I also spend a lot of time in Iceland during the summer guiding my friends and clients across these incredible landscapes.

While traveling the world, I make every effort to show the beauty of the landscapes, the quality of the rock and the best snow in the Pyrenees to everyone who wants to check them out.
