Follow me on this unforgettable ski tour of Carros de Foc in the Spanish Pyrenees! I will take you to some of the best untouched powder throughout the most scenic reaches of northern Spain as we traverse a classic circular tour in northern Catalonia.

Aiguestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park (St. Maurici) is the only Spanish national park in Catalonia. It has gorgeous alpine pastures and forests, and hidden within them are a plethora of mountain lakes.

Because of its location in the Pyrenees, there are various altitudes throughout the park that offer an equally diverse selection of nature. While the aesthetics can be pleasing all year round, it is perfect in winter.

The Carros de Foc circuit is home to some impressive summits, and the mountain huts dotting the backcountry add to the culture of the landscape. This translates to more intimate treks and adds the crucial ingredients for an epic snow country experience.

And we will be doing just that as we traverse the best snow available over our 5-day tour. I will give you the opportunity to try local cuisine as we shred from hut to hut and lookout over the vast beauty of St. Maurici.

We will have an assortment of remote trails to explore, so be prepared to take some of the best photographs of your life – just in case your friends don´t believe how amazing this trip is!

Price does NOT include transportation to / from Vall d’Aran, accommodations in Vielha, or your personal gear. Lunch / food during the day is also NOT included.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ventosa i Calvell Hut

We will set out for Arties and then make our way to Montardo. We will finish the day at Ventosa i Calvell Hut (2,220m).

Day 2: Estany Llong Hut

In the morning, we leave for Collado de Contraix. We will then see Gran Tuc de Colomers (2,933m), and finish the day at Estany Llong Hut.

Day 3: Amitges Hut

This day we will traverse to Pic de Subenuix (2,950m) and the surrounding country. Our day ends at Amitges Hut.

Day 4: Saboredo Hut

Today we will explore Bassiero (2,904m) and Col del Lac Glacat, with some unbelievable views. The evening will be spent at the Saboredo Hut.

Day 5: Banhs de Tredos

Our last day takes us to Serra de Sendrosa and Bahns de Tredos before our return.

Recommended equipment includes, but is not limited to: a light backpack with a ski-carry system, ski touring gear, avalanche safety kit, helmet, personal/technical clothes (i.e. Gore-Tex pants, light and heavy jackets, etc.), gloves, hat, sun protection gear, hydration appliances, headlamp, and first aid kit.

Mountain Guide

I love what I do and love to transmit my passion while guiding.

After touring the world fulfilling my dreams, I have put together all the knowledge gained and a strong background as a mountain guide to become one of the most versatile, dedicated and professional guides in the Pyrenees.

My resume has technical training in mountain medicine, snow studies, search and rescue complete training, meteorology and botany.

I spend the winters enjoying the unique snow conditions in the Aran Valley, as a ski touring and freeride Guide, and summers climbing the countless areas of excellent rock, either granite, limestone or conglomerate in the Pyrenees. I also spend a lot of time in Iceland during the summer guiding my friends and clients across these incredible landscapes.

While traveling the world, I make every effort to show the beauty of the landscapes, the quality of the rock and the best snow in the Pyrenees to everyone who wants to check them out.
