Follow me on this 4-day ascent and visit the amazing Cordillera Blanca to get to the top of the beautiful Artesonraju peak.

With 6,025 meters and its singular pyramid-shaped summit, the Artesonraju mountain is located in the Paron Valley and it is a very well know ascent for climbers around the world.

The meeting point of our trip will be the city of Huaraz. As for the itinerary, on day 1 we’ll drive to the Paron Lake, the largest lake of the range. Then, we’ll hike up during 3 to 4 hours to the Base Camp (4,350 meters). On day 2, we’ll take a 4 to 5 hour hike to the High Camp (5,300 meters). The following day, we’ll reach the summit of the incredible Artesonraju. This will take us around 16 to 18 hours. As you can see, it will be an intense climb. Finally, during the last day of the trip, we’ll return to the Paron Lake, drive to Huaraz and say goodbye.

Take into account that the level of this ascent is demanding, so a very good physical condition and previous mountaineering experience are mandatory.

Percy Williams Dextre Henostroza who is a member of the Peruvian Mountain Guide Association (AGMP) for over 17 years and is fully certified by the Unión International Association of Mountain Guide (IFMGA-UIAGM). Percy who hails from a family of mountaineers, has worked and climbed all over Peru honing his skills over many years in the mountains. Such as: Huandoy (Norte Face) Piramide Garcilazo (South West Face), Huascaran, Alpamayo, Chopicalqui, Ranrapalca, Tocllaraju, different routes, Another’s ones etc. Pisco, Yanapaccha, Vallunaraju, Ishinca, Urus, different routes, another ones, etc.
