Description

The Chilean Andes are home to a variety of secret rock climbing gems. This 3-day trip is your chance to discover the “Anfiteatro”, in Cochamó Valley, near Puerto Varas. Come to Chile and join me for an exciting outdoor adventure!

The Cochamó Valley is in the Chilean Patagonia. Featuring a unique alpine landscape, this region attracts hikers and rock climbers from all over the world. Its scenery is dominated by huge granite walls, lush forests and deep-blue lakes.

On this 3-day rock climbing tour, we will discover the “Anfiteatro” (Spanish for “Amphitheater” – 1,890m), one of the attractions of Cochamó. Also known as “The Big Wall”, this granitic formation has impressive vertical walls to climb!

Here we will find several routes for all levels. The most popular are La aleta de tiburón (“The Shark’s Fin”) and Todo Cambia (“Everything changes”). The first one is perfect for beginners and offers breathtaking views of the entire Cochamó Valley. The second one is amazing for crack climbing lovers.

Please note that this tour requires a good fitness level. Furthermore, you need to have at least basic rock climbing skills: you should be able to head up 500-meter routes with difficulty ranging from 5.9 to 5.11.

So, if you want to live an awesome rock climbing experience with an expert guide, please get in touch with me. Let’s explore a stunning area of the Chilean Cochamó Valley: The Anfiteatro!

I can also take you to another climbing spots of Cochamó, such as Cerro Trinidad or Cerro La Junta. You can take a look at those programs too.

Mountain Guide

IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide from Chile

I was born in 1987, and since I was young I’ve been around the mountains, and for the past 12 years I’ve been practicing all mountain disciplines.

Some highlights of my climbing career: First Chilean to Cerro Torre via Ragni, first Torres del Paine alpine style traverse, and many other first ascents.

I did the IFMGA/UIAGM aspirant course in Bolivia in 2016, and recently got my full IFMGA certification in April 2018. I have also AIARE level 2 training.

Come and discover the mountains of Chile, a wonderful country, where we will have a unique experience together with a professional guide, in a truly unforgettable trip, it will be a pleasure to be able to guide you through some of the mountains of my country in your next vacations, i am sure will be the first of many adventures that we will enjoy together in the mountains of the Andes.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
