Description

We will meet in the charming town of Arco next to the beautiful lake Garda and then make our way to the South Tyrol region.

South Tyrol is a truly picturesque area of the highest beauty; mountains, lakes and forests blanket its landscapes.

During the winter the area’s many rivers and waterfalls transform into a winter wonderland, a world of ice that is perfect for climbing.

This trip is perfect for those who want to begin their ice climbing journey, I will explain clearly the techniques and methodology in an engaging and fun manner.

Equally if you are experienced in ice climbing but would like to focus on some specific weaknesses, then I will be delighted in helping you strengthen your knowledge and technique.

We will have the possibility to explore various climbs over the 3 days in numerous valleys, including; Valle Aurina, Colforsco Val Badia, Val Gardena and Val Martello

I know this region intimately and can select the best locations for the group depending on our requirements and desires.

If you want to learn how to ice climb or further develop your skills, then sign up now to this fantastic 3 days in the stunning South Tyrol wilderness and I’ll be waiting to get on the ice with you and start exploring!

If northern Italy in the winter is what you want then consider this fantastic day of freeride skiing near Arco for great fun in deep powder snow!

Mountain Guide

Certified mountain and ski guide and is directing since 15 years the Mountain School Mmove (former Friends of Arco). In the past, his passion had driven him for weeks to the solitude of the Alps, of Patagonia, or of the icy heights of the Karakorum to climb famous walls and peaks and open up new routes.

Today his priorities have moved. He wants to share his enthusiasm for the mountains - while working with his guests and in his spare time with his sons, as his father has once done with him. Mauro Girardi is very proud on its enthusiastic and highly qualified team of local Mountain-and Ski Guides, Hiking Guides and office employees. Mmove is not just a mountain school, but is a steadily growing circle of friends, who would like to realize great experiences. We like to Mmove it !!

Mmove is the only mountain school in the Alto Garda region with a guaranteed weekly program and activities for all tastes and the whole family.

The team is formed by 8 IFMGA/UIAGM Guides, so if Mauro is not available, one of the other highly qualified members of the team will be the guide.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
