Tierra del Fuego is one of the most sublime places on Earth. Located at the south tip of South America, it is a true paradise. And this 3-day hiking tour around Torres del Rio Chico is the best way to explore one of Tierra del Fuego‘s most incredible spots.
You can check how the trip looks like in this amazing video.
Our 3-day hike begins at the base of Cerro Cortez. Then we walk along the Rio Chico river until it seems that the vegetation has ended. We also have the option to climb to one of the valley lagoons.
The day after we will start our tour around the Lagunas de las Aves, or Birds Lagoons in English. The tour includes magnificent lagoons such as the Halcon, Chimango, Albatros, Cóndor and Caracho. Then, we’ll start ascending to the Paso de las Aves, also known as the Birds Pass in English. We’ll descend from the Manutara valley straight to the Manutara lagoon.
On our last day we’ll have an exquisite breakfast by the Manutara Lagoon. And, if the weather permits, we’ll cross the Vincigerra Sierra, where you’ll have a stunning view of Mount Vincigerra, the Beagle Canal and the Darwin’s mountain range. Finally, I’ll take you to the Andorra Valley so you get the chance to see the Vincigerra Glacier.
However, if the weather shifts, we also have another option. We can ascend through the valley towards the East, along the Rio Chico river. We will descend by the Rio Chico until we arrive to a route that will take us back to Ushuaia.
So, if you ever wanted to explore Tierra del Fuego, this hiking tour on Torres del Rio Chico is for you. Send me a message, and I’ll make sure your days in this wonderful land are unforgettable.
But, if you are looking for a skiing adventure, check out this Backcountry ski day trip in Ushuaia, Patagonia.

I was born and live in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world! I've been skiing since I was 2 years old, and competed as a ski athlete in a Nordic ski and Biathlon world ski championships, world cups and in the winter Olimpic Games Torino 2006
In 2007 I retired from professional competitions to focus on my guiding career. I trained on rock, ice and mixed climbing skills as well as guiding techniques and became a mountain guide in 2011 at the Argentinean Mountaineering Guides Association (AAGM). In 2017 I completed the guiding courses to become also a certified Ski Mountain Guide GEM-AAGM.
I've done a large number of technical climbs at the Darwin Range and Patagonia while many of those are new lines

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
