Description

Follow me to the beautiful mountains of Spain on this incredible ski touring adventure. During this two day course, we’ll enjoy the spectacular Sierra de Guadarrama and learn ski touring and mountain techniques.

Sierra de Guadarrama is a stunning mountain range in the community of Madrid. It is tremendously popular among hiking and climbing enthusiasts for its stunning views and its easy access from Madrid.

On this occasion, I’ll teach you ascent and descent techniques, and about equipment and its maintenance, planning a trip, complicated turns and how to use crampons and an ice axe. I’ll also teach you all about safety techniques including how to analyze the field and weather conditions, how to avoid and act in case of avalanches, how to use an arva, probe and shovel and how to prepare a first-aid kit.

This trip is ideal for people with some experience in alpine skiing that want to enter the world of ski touring. It is also a good option for mountaineers and climbers looking to gain new skills to access winter itineraries faster and more easily.

Make sure to bring: -40-50 liter backpack -Ski touring equipment -Comfortable and warm clothes -Skiing boots and sticks -Arva, shovel and probe -Helmet -Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, gloves. If you do not have any of these things, send me a message and I can help you rent it.

Mountain Guide

High Mountain Sports Technician (Técnico Deportivo en Alta Montaña) from Spain.

He has more than 20 years doing mountain and skiing. From his early walks in La Pedriza to tens of alpine “four thousanders” summits ascended, to expeditions in South America, Caucasus and Central Asia, has traveled many mountains, especially on his skis, since it is a fan of this sport in all disciplines. Also enjoy the classic climbing and mountaineering.

Born competitor, started in mountain biking, went through the skijoring (in which discipline was Champion of Spain), skiing, mountain duathlon, mountain running and finally cross-country skiing and ski-mountaineering, where several successes also treasures.

He's a great teacher and teaches with the same passion which live the mountain. He speaks spanish, english, italian, french (basic) and russian (basic).

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy.
