Description

Want to reach the summit of one of the tallest mountains in Switzerland? Then join me on a 2-day trip in Randa, Switzerland as we climb to the top of Dom, the tallest peak in the Mischabel Range, and enjoy an awesome mountaineering adventure.

What to expect

Nestled in the Alps and sitting tall at 4,545 meters, Dom is an impressive mountain. Climbing this mountain is not technically very difficult but physically it is a huge challenge.

To begin our trip, we’ll meet at Randa and from there we’ll hike to Rifugio Domhutte. This will be our home for the night. We’ll get to bed early because the next day we’ll rise bright and early, at 3 am to be precise, to begin our journey to the summit.

Day two is where we face the most difficult conditions. We’ll be traversing a glacier and climbing over very rocky and snowy terrain. The final stretch to the summit is difficult but worth it for the awesome views of the Alps and the peaceful, solitude at the top.

We’ll then descend, this can be done on the same day. However, you can do it in more time if you need to.

Across the two days, we’ll make a vertical gain of 3100 meters. This is not an easy mountain to climb. You’ll need to have previous mountaineering experience and a good level of fitness to take on the challenge.

This is an awesome experience you don’t want to miss, get it touch today to save your spot.

And if you’re interested climbing the mother of all mountains Mont Blanc, check out my 3-day trip.

Mountain Guide

The desire to turn my passion for the mountains into my profession led me train as a professional mountain guide. I became a certified IFMGA guide in 2005 and have spent more than 200 days per year on the mountains ever since.

Although I usually work in the Mont Blanc area, Monterosa, the Lepontine Alps and the Dolomites, I'm always eager to explore more remote places and have truly unique experiences. I have extensive experience in the Lofoten Islands, in Norway, as well.

To me, reaching the summit is important but not as much as enjoying the journey and sharing some unforgettable moments. The ascent usually provides the chance to enjoy the views, while a night in a bivouac is always a good opportunity to look at the stars and share a good talk.

I speak English, French and Italian, of course.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
