Description
Follow me on this ski touring program in Svaneti, Georgia and enjoy a full week of freeride skiing through the great mountains of the South Caucasus.
This trip takes place in Georgia, near the border area with Russia. The meeting point will be a hotel in Tbilisi, the country’s capital city. If you come with me on this tour, you will have the chance to ski across astonishing open fields in the Caucasus Mountains. During the week, you’ll visit the Tetnuldi ski resort.
Although this trip is not too challenging, some previous experience and a good physical condition are required. You will enjoy skiing from 4 to 6 hours each day and the highest point that you’ll reach during this adventure will be around 3,800 meters.
Consider that the itinerary of the trip as well as the accommodation may depend on the weather conditions and the participants level.
Also, take into account that the flights to and from Tbilisi are not included in the trip. Nevertheless, we are able to book the tickets for you, if you wish.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival to Tbilisi and day off to enjoy the city.
Day 2: Tetnuldi ski resort
On day 2, we’ll drive to Tetnuldi ski resort and check the mountain’s conditions. A short snowshoeing hike at the end of the day.
Meals included: Breakfast, picnic and dinner
Accommodation: Family house
Day 3: Koruldi
Snowshoeing start before ski touring across the Mestia forests.
Elevation gain: 1200+
Meals included: Breakfast, picnic and dinner
Accommodation: Refuge
Day 4: Chalaadi Glacier
Snowshoeing hike until Chalaadi Glacier and then continue to the 3,700 meters of altitude. An incredible descent through Svaneti powder.
Elevation gain: +/-1000m
Meals included: Breakfast, picnic and dinner
Accommodation: Family house
Day 5: Ushguli
We’ll drive to Ushguli, at an altitude of 2,200 meters. We’ll enjoy skiing in one of the surrounding valleys and then go to our accommodation.

Day 6: Ushguli - Latpari Pass
We will contemplate the beautiful sights of the Caucasus Mountains at Latpari Pass. Transfer to Mestia.

Day 7: Etseri village
Skiing at the foot of Mount Ushba in Esteri village.
Elevation gain: +/-1100m

Accommodation: Hotel
Day 9: Transfer to the Airport and end of the trip

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy.
