Join our experienced guide for this 1-week hiking tour through the scenic Taiga forest along the Finnish-Russian border!

We will spend the week hiking in solitude as we explore the northeast region of Kainuu, which boasts a diverse array of pristine scenery including moorlands, lakes, ridges and ancient spruce forests.

Since we will be in the remote wilderness of the Taiga, there will also be plenty of opportunities to see the unique and native wildlife species of the region. Wolverines, brown bears and timber wolves all make their homes in this region.

When we finish our daily hike, which will usually cover about 19 kilometers, we will enjoy fine Finnish hospitality. The walks are usually relatively flat, but a fair amount of physical fitness is required for this trip.

Each night we will stay at a forest hut where we will enjoy a traditional meal made with fresh fruit from the forest as well as other locally sourced ingredients. Some huts will even have a sauna, which we will be able to use before taking a refreshing dip in a nearby lake.
