Highlights

* Climb the via ferrata to the summit of Cima Capi.

* Experience lovely views of Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy.

* Pass by the sober relics of World War One trenches.

Description

Soaring above the clear tranquil waters of Lake Garda are the sheer walls of Cima Capi. Its 909-meter peak lies on the mountains of Garda in northern Italy.

The peak is accessible by an easy and exciting via ferrata, which is well equipped and was fully renovated in 2009. It leads through tunnels and trenches built during the First World War.

Once we conquer the peak we’ll witness fantastic views of the lake and the surrounding Garda mountains to the east.

The peak is part of the Rocchetta massif, which is north of Valle di Ledro and west of Lake Garda.

Lake Garda, with an area of 143 square miles (370 square kilometers), is the country’s largest lake, and the third-largest in the Alps.

Our day will begin in Biacesa with our ascent taking 6 hours. The exposed path breaks down any potential barriers to the stunning natural beauty of the Sarca Valley.

From the top of Cima Capi, we’ll descend by old walkways and war fortifications, the battle scars that are scratched into the mountainside.

The level of difficulty for this trip requires a very good level of fitness, due to the high vertical walls, and the changing of altitude during the ascent.

Get in touch now to reserve your place on an action-packed via ferrata to the summit of the stunning Cima Capi, overlooking Lake Garda, Italy’s largest.

Mountain Guide

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
