Description

Looking out from the vibrant alpine town of Cortina, in the heart of the Dolomites, the Tofane mountain group forms a stunning setting.

Along a section of the Tofane mountains is the via ferrata Punta Anna, at 2,731 meters. From here is a great way to enjoy the Dolomites.

To reach the beginning of our route we will either drive up to the Dibona refuge or take a cable car, either means will get us to the Pomedes refuge. Once here, the jagged ridge that soars skywards and leads to the dramatic Punta Anna will be our challenge.

The quality of rock and the excellent protection makes this via ferrata a fantastic climb, especially when you realise the superb exposure it offers.

As we rise above the Cortina valley, the dramatic landscape opens up, being able to view the beautiful collection of mountains of Cinque Torri, as well as the king of the Dolomites, Monte Antelao, which soars to 3,263 meters.

Due to the level of difficulty being intermediate, potential participants are expected to have previous via ferrata experience. In addition, it is necessary to have a good level of fitness for this 1-day climb.

The guiding fee and via ferrata set (helmet, harness, and via ferrata lanyard) is included in the price.

What's the schedule for the day? At what time will we start?

The starting time will depend on the time of the year and weather forecast, but we usually meet around 8/9 am in Dibona hut. We then hike around 1,5 hours to the start of the via ferrata. Mountain Guide

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Man

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Maxine

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Valeriya

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Cami

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
