Come explore the infinite woods and peaks of the beautiful Carnic Alps in this one-day snowshoeing trip. For winter lovers, this is the ideal adventure!

We’ll start in the Village of Sauris, located 1405 meters above sea level. We will then go towards Sella Festons, at 1860 meters. Some of the places we’ll visit include the Valleys of Sauris and Val Pesarina, famous among snowshoe hikers.

In addition, the Mount Oberkofel (2034 m) also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps. That summit shows the Monfalconi, the Cridola, the Val Boite Dolomites and the whole chain of Monti Clap, Siera and Monte Cimon. We’ll even get to enjoy the Three Peaks of Lavaredo!

The terrain of the Carnic Alps is ideal for snowshoeing due to its exciting ascents and descents and beautiful landscapes. Besides, the immense woods add fun obstacles to the route. There are no technical requirements to join me on this great adventure. Make sure to bring snowshoes, sticks, leggings, ARVA, shovel and probe.

I am the founder of the Gotrek Hiking Company, an outdoor adventure company that offers qualified and professional mountain guiding to domestic and foreign guests and tourists in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia and all over Europe. All climbing, training, trekking, hiking and snowshoeing tours are guided by CMGA certified (Croatian Mountain Guide Association) and UIMLA guide.

I live in Slovenia, a country where mountaineering is a way of life. My team of UIMLA and CMGA guides and instructors works and lives in Slovenia or Croatia. If I am not available to guide you, one of the experienced guides in my team will be your guide.
