Description

If you have a passion for heights, then this multi-pitch rock climbing trip in the Sarca Valley is ideal.

Follow the waters of the Sarca River southwards where it flows into Garda Lake in the northern region of Lombardy. To the north of the lake lies the stunning town of Arco, guarded on one side by giant limestone cliffs.

Arco is home to hundreds of multi-pitch routes that are suited for all types of difficulties. This makes our trip incredibly flexible depending on your own level of experience, fitness and ability.

The town’s limestone giants create the perfect playground for rock climbers: from single-pitch routes to long multi-pitch routes all cleaned and bolted. All situated around the ancient lands of Arco, with its Medieval castle overlooking the landscape.

For beginners, Muro dell’Asino is the perfect route to take their first steps and explore the beautiful landscapes of northern Italy. Also, Placche di Baone is a collection of limestone that lies to the south of Monte Baone. It offers mostly grip-based climbing with incredible views of the town of Arco and the lake.

For climbers seeking more of a challenge, the Spigolo Nascosto route in Santa Massenza is an ideal climb. This 7-pitch climb has some bolts but has mainly threads and trees as protection.

And of course, the duration of the trip depends on the route that you choose.

Mountain Guide

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
