Description

Courmayeur, in the Aosta Valley, is a perfect starting point for your first experience in ski touring. This corner of the Alps in northwestern Italy has countless options for all ski levels, which is why I planned a 1-day intro to ski touring here.

We can decide the exact destination of the trip together and taking into account your skiing level, but the starting point will be charming Courmayeur.

Even though you do not need to have any prior experience ski touring, you do need to be in good physical shape and have some off-piste ski experience. It is extremely important to initiate in ski touring with a certified mountain guide, as in this way you will learn the techniques and progress in all safety. It is the ideal way to prepare you for further ski touring adventures, whether you continue with a guide or independently.

During the day, we will cover the basics of ski touring, including how to use ski bindings and sealskins, avalanche awareness, some route planning and more. And of course, we will actually go ski touring!

Don’t hesitate to send me a request if you are interested in this intro to ski touring! It will be my pleasure to teach you the basics and guide you on your first day practising this wonderful discipline. And after you have gained more experience, we can do the mythical Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt!
