Description

The Monte Baldo range forms part of the Italian Alps Mountain Range and is located just east of the spectacular lake Garda.

The Via Ferrata Gerardo Sega is located on the western side of Monte Baldo and offers truly remarkable vistas.

There are lots of interesting and fun climbing passages to be explored on this trip that don’t require special or advanced climbing skills to traverse.

The Via Ferrata will take you on a expansive overhanging wall that, although not highly technical, is very exposed.

It also includes a wide and unprotected ledge beside an imposing rock face, therefore you will need to be comfortable with heights.

The ascent and descent of this trip are both long treks but they will take you through really pleasant landscapes including; a plateau, a stunning gorge and the magnificent Preafessa waterfall.

The roundtrip will be around 8 hours and require a decent level of fitness and no vertigo. Children are also welcome if they are over 1.40m and confident in this domain.

This is a spectacular location in wonderful wilderness. The Via Ferrata will give you a real thrill and provide breathtaking views over the surrounding landscapes.

If you are excited to get up the mountain and onto this amazing Via Ferrata then sign up now and I’ll be waiting to the lead you the way!

If Via Ferratas are your thing then check the following two trips; this one-day Via Ferrata looms over lake Garda itself for truly inspiring views. Whilst this one-day Via Ferrata in the dolomites was closed for years creating a mythical feel and is now open and drawing people to its epic location in the Adige valley.

Mountain Guide

Certified mountain and ski guide and is directing since 15 years the Mountain School Mmove (former Friends of Arco). In the past, his passion had driven him for weeks to the solitude of the Alps, of Patagonia, or of the icy heights of the Karakorum to climb famous walls and peaks and open up new routes.

Today his priorities have moved. He wants to share his enthusiasm for the mountains - while working with his guests and in his spare time with his sons, as his father has once done with him. Mauro Girardi is very proud on its enthusiastic and highly qualified team of local Mountain-and Ski Guides, Hiking Guides and office employees. Mmove is not just a mountain school, but is a steadily growing circle of friends, who would like to realize great experiences. We like to Mmove it !!

Mmove is the only mountain school in the Alto Garda region with a guaranteed weekly program and activities for all tastes and the whole family.

The team is formed by 8 IFMGA/UIAGM Guides, so if Mauro is not available, one of the other highly qualified members of the team will be the guide.

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
