Climbing Acotango Volcano: Top Outdoor Adventures Awaiting You

The climb to the top of Acotango is not technically challenging, however, there are some quite steep sections. You’ll need the stamina to reach the summit and a good level of fitness. It’s possible to drive to base camp at 4,900 meters and the road remains drivable until around 5,600 meters, so depending on where you drive to, you can complete the climb in as little as four hours. Make the most of the awesome mountains around like Parinacota and Pomerape.

This region tends to stay cold year round due to the altitude. Expect summer averages of around 22 degrees celsius and winter averages of 15 degrees celsius. The weather in the mountains is considerably colder.
